Spent the summer as an intern for the local police department in my hometown. Never had a paid job other than helping run my family grocery store when I was a teenager. Planning to seek out a commission as a U.S. Coast Guard officer after graduating with my B.S. in Criminal Justice.

>>9450289 are you self-employed or part of a company? the latter is terrible because working for clients you hate sucks, the first is better because you can name your price, create the web shit, and if a client is being a dick tell him to go somewhere else.

>>9450446 I work for a company, and you're 100% right. I hate the projects, I hate the clients, I hate the people I work with. My problem now is, I'd need to work out of work hours doing more web development, something I've come to despise, in order to start doing it for myself. Caught in a trap.

>>9456215 I dont work on a specific game, im on the mobile publishing side of things But yea, it's pretty funny having Don Mattrick as our CEO. All of the game teams are shitting themselves because every 2 or 3 months he has these big meetings to review every single game in development and will kill the project if he doesnt like it. It's very refreshing to see considering the complete shit we've churned out prior to his arrival

>>9457269 You just get reassigned to a different team. This process is usually unorganized though. I forget the exact name of where you're put, but my friend was a person who had to be reassigned to a different team, Now when you're in this process you need to check in with your manager every X amount of time because I believe part of your responsibility is to work with HR to find a new team. So his manager resigned during all of this, and he literally sat around for like 2-3 months doing nothing and getting paid for it since he had no one to report to and HR never noticed him. It was pretty funny since he'd just stay home during that time playing video games and getting paid for it. Eventually he was put on a new team since boredom kicked in.
