Why do modern couples insist on sharing a bed for the purpose of sleeping? Mattress firmness/type, amount of bedsheets desired, tucked/untucked status can only be set independently with separate beds. If one partner needs to get out of bed because of differing schedules, loo use, etc., there's less chance of disturbing the other's sleep with separate beds. Flatulence, snoring, sweating, menstruation, bed-wetting, and disease or malady are less of a problem between partners with separate beds. Are there any benefits to sharing a bed for sleep? Why did society abandon the more rational concept of separate beds in favor of shared ones?

Because it feels nice to be close to the person who you love. Morning cuddles in bed are the fucking bomb.

>>6004626 Love? Affection? Waking up I'm the arms the person you trust more than anything. To have the first thing you see in the morning is a person who you love more than anything in the world looking right back at you with the same thought. There is no better feeling

So that couples can fall asleep in each other's arms after sex. It's a nice feeling. Maybe you'll feel it one day

>>6004657 Consciousness required for that. Separate beds doesn't make cuddling impossible or even significantly more difficult. >>6004685 Separate beds doesn't prevent you from seeing your partner in the morning. They're just a half metre further away. Realistically, one doesn't wake up in the arms of another as sleeping in an embrace will deaden the arm of the embracer. These things you describe as benefits are things that only apply while you are conscious and awake, and separate beds doesn't stop any of that from occurring. Also... if sharing beds is a measure of unquestionable love, do you plan on having your kids sleep in bed with you too? It seems ridiculous.

Sometimes when I stay at a friend's house there are about 6 or 7 people there. I'm a pretty restless sleeping, but when I'm there I usually get to spoon with someone and it is fucking great. Falling asleep while spooning someone is so good. I usually spoon with a girl but I often roll over when I'm asleep and spoon with a guy instead.

I'm afraid of sharing a bed with my one day wife, how do people have sex or cuddle and talk to each other right in the morning just after waking up when most people have morning breath at that time?

I've wondered this too OP - I can understand the attraction for young couples - it'd be nice and romantic to fall asleep and wake up in eachother arms snuggling etc. But.. every day for the rest of your life together? there must be a point where the lovey-duvey feeling wears off and it just becomes an annoyance. I seriously worry about having to ever do it myself - I'm awkard: >really strange sleeping habits I can go to bed early (e.g 10pm) and still feel like shit if I get late (1-3pm) - yet sometimes I can miss sleep altogether for a day and feel better than ever. Usually the earlier I go to bed the longer I will take to fall asleep (and yes - I've tried sticking to a routine - I just end up feeling like shit forever that way) >I wriggle all over the bed >sometimes feel the need to switch sides >sometimes feel the need to wrap the entire bedding in a strange way - sometimes completely around me >my thoughts allways keep me up whether I want them to or not - sometimes for hours >even when my mind run out of shit to think about I still take at least half an hour longer to actually fall asleep >If I take too long to fall asleep I will start to get hot and sweaty from all my wriggling which will cause me to take even longer to sleep I'm also irritable and have an awful breath stench. - the only plus I can think of is that I have godly morning hair - but unfortaunately nobody gets to see it and it will probably receed one day.

I love sleeping in one bed with my boyfriend. He smells so good and he is always so warm. Also he looks adorable sleeping so it's nice that i can easily sneak a peek when he's sleeping so peacefully. In the morning i get to wake him up by snuggling up against him. And luckily for me he says he feels the same way. One time when i wanted to let him have the bed because he seemed a little grumpy i went to sleep in the ''guest bed''. He actually came to me and picked me up and placed me in his bed. He said he feels better when i am next to him and it was the cutest thing ever

Woman evolved in an environment of domineering men. Ancient hominids didn't care about consent. Women were traded and raped, their feelings never taken into consideration. As a result, women evolved not to care about such treatment and to even find it attractive. This is why women are irrational, unreasonable, lack intelligence and logic, manipulative, uncaring, untrustworthy, lack morals, honor, a sense of duty, and are unable to control their sexuality. Surveys have shown most women fantasize about being sexually over powered by men. Most women orgasm during rape. This makes sense as lubricating during rape prevents infection and death, orgasm also increases chances of conception making rapists more likely to spread their genes. This is why uneducated women who have been well disciplined are happier and make better companions. Like puppies, they follow their owners and exist to make them happy despite not having any sense of what they're doing. Women are also highly competitive amongst each other, like most female animals. This is because they were often kept in harems and would compete to mate with their owner. As such, women should not hold positions of status as this makes other women uncontrollably jealous which in turn will make everyone around them miserable. Women have always been property, since recorded history their nature has been well understood. This doesn't mean we should treat them poorly, but to treat them the like the children they are.

Gf likes to be in constant contact in bed, but to sleep well I need to have nothing touching me. Being in close contact usually leads to more sex though, so I usually say fuck having a good sleep, I'd rather have several good fucks. If we were together every night though, things would be different. Not to the point of separate beds, more like don't touch me unless we're fucking woman.
