I don't care, paper currency is forced upon the people as a means of trade, so that purchasing power can be removed when the political elite feel threatened.
Gold is the only true currency, since it was established as valuable in multiple cultures.

Canada. It's too busy. I appreciate the use of colors and it has interesting ideas in it, but it just simply tries to do too much. Blank space is just as important as filled space.
I'd argue US money is starting to get a bit too busy now. But at least some of the security features, etc... are a little toned down and subtle.

The filled space makes it much harder to counterfeit. If you look closely at a real bill and not at a shitty sample online you can see how insanely detailed all that filling stuff is and how hard it is to replicate.

Because it is inconvenient. Security concerns must be balanced with practicality. And if we're strictly speaking in terms of how aesthetically appealing a note is, then covering the entire note with security features is going to be less pleasing then balancing security concerns with strategic blank spaces. Which is all I thought this debate was about; how nice something looks. And while I'm sure the bill is very secure, it just gets too busy with its features.

I preferred when the US had pure green bills, but they could make color work if they did something more with it. Simply having green edges and a splash of a different color for the middle third looks awful.

Yeah. 20s are clear. 5s are purple. 10s are clear in the center but use orange edges now. 50s have purple edges clear center. 100s are pretty similar to 5s color wise.
I'm not really a fan of what they're doing with the color.
