It's normal, serving small quantities is french faggotry. I believe you guys are fatter for two big reasons: first, your food is overly industrialized, lots of fat and other industrialized stuff that gets ou fatter with small portions of food. Second and maybe a bit more important, is that you are more sendentary in general I BELIEVE (although I may be wrong about this). Brazilian people likes the street, walking, running, jumping, doing anything, but stay quiet. Not everyone is like this of course, and we are getting fatter and fatter, especially in the big cities with the increasing "sendentarism factor".

No, seriously, a lot of people. My mother worked two jobs and by the time she got home she was really tired, so she would just bring stuff from the restaurants where she worked and only cook on the weekends. As for my American friends, it was always hamburgers or pizza or chicken nuggets both in school and at home. There was also a lot of Chinese all-you-can-eat restaurants, and these people only cooked during holidays or special occasions, it most of these were BBQs.
Needless to say Anon, we were all pretty damn fat.

And yes, about rice and beans, you're right. That's an obsession for the brazilians and people will eat it in every single part of the country (not sure about the north). But about farofa it's usually more in the northeastern region. We do eat it everywhere but not everyday such as NE's. But meat is what vary everyday. You would be surprised to see how many different ways we can cook meat. And I mean the population in general, not just the chefs.
