>>6088847 >highs and lows Sorry, I skipped that part. The highs are that people are more likely to be friendly, but you get swarmed with people trying to sell you trinkets. It can be tiring, but it's part of that kind of travel. I don't prefer third world countries because it takes a lot more energy, but it's always a bit of an adventure. Working in Egypt was a trip. We were doing an installation for some commercial electronics on the executive level of a high rise and there were people welding in the hallways barefoot, digging trenches in concrete by hand, etc. I've never seen anything like it. Feel free to ask specifics of any of the countries if you'd like to know more.

>>6088965 >What job would take you to Egypt? You can read more here, >>6088943 . But specifically we were installing Video Teleconferencing units in the new Cairo HQ of Mobinil, the telecom company. They were pretty cool units too. The CEO had a hidaway flatpanel that rose out of a cabinet, etc, etc. I was a field technician at the time (I'm an engineer now) and so I was doing wiring and physical installations. We also got to work on a couple of Prince Bandar's (of Saudi) palaces as a side job. One of our engineers is buddies with him (now works for him fulltime) and so we did stuff like modify a security system for his compound in Sharm el Sheik. I've also gone to Kuwait with the same company I worked for at that time. That was for work on a military base, so it was different. Kuwait was pretty boring. I don't really like that place.
