Why are you not bulking exclusively with bear meat? How do you expect to go bear mode without consuming the souls of bears?

Because acquiring bear meat is expensive (pre-slaughtered or hunting it myself) and I'm a poorfag. Dat bear curry though. Hnnnngh.

>>17181216 My comment was more specifically directed at Bear, which has higher instances of Trichinosis compared to other game meat. Game meat is amazing; Deer, Moose, Elk, Turkey, etc...all fantastic and have much better fatty acid profiles. Just gotta accept the risks with it as well as the benefit

Bear hunting is boring as shit and you usually don't catch anything (Utahfag here.) bear season is early late spring or fall when bears have come out of hibernation or going into it thusly reducing the risk of being eaten, depending on the bear you just chill in a tree for hours and shoot one in the heart when they come, the skull is so thick bullet can hardly penetrate. Generally unless you have a big camp and some buddies you haul it back and clean it at home, deskinned bear looks exactly like a skinned person, scary. I love bear but elk and ram take the cake for funnest kills. You can pay around $500 a day for a game guide in Alaska for a bear trip, not worth it IMO, though your freezer will be stocked for months. Bear is good meat, kind of fatty though. Really good as a burger. Tfw country wife to cook your bear meat.

>>17181695 >implying the mass-produced meat you eat every day isn't Just watch some documentaries and do some reasearch, it'll open your eyes wide. Even visiting a -good- publicly accessible farm chances are you'll see maggots eating away at the animals

Bear meat is fucking gross. It's greasy and doesn't taste good (think about eating a human). Most states in the Rocky Mountain region allow you to purchase black bear tags over the counter wherever they sell other hunting/fishing licenses (gas station/Walmart/etc.). I usually buy one just in case I see a bear while elk hunting. Like the guy from Utah said, actual bear hunting is quite boring. It usually involves sitting in a blind or tree stand and staring at a bait station all day. However, I am new to bow hunting and am looking for something to stick with an arrow, so I am planning on hunting bear/cougar/some kind of predator this spring. >mfw bear meat

>>17182104 Utahguy here, you have not lived until you bow hunted ram, trust me on this one. I'd link this video my company made for bowtech but I'll have to find it. Beautiful beautiful scenery, mountainous terrain, beautiful animal and sticking 'em with an arrow is an amazing feeling. Plus you get to bike in and bike out, meat isn't worth writing home about but you'll love it.

For any prospecting hunters out there looking for all kinds of gainz from Bear, hear me out: You must get as far away from civilization as possible in order to get good bear meat. The bears near small towns and cities usually eat out of the dumps and get contaminated with all kinds of shit quickly as things accumulate in their fat. Garbage Bears will, in almost all cases, have fucking worms living in them and, once in a while, little black tumors growing as well. My auntie lives in Kitimat and Prince Rupert, BC up here in Canada and used to work for Parks. They would get calls from hunters all the time looking for some explanation for this shit and It's all what they're eating which is literally garbage. The same can be said for many game animals as well, but I only Bear is especially susceptible.
