/fit/ bros, last week there was a death in my family so i flew across the country to be back home for six days. I did no lifting and only sporadic cardio, while eating like shit. Lots of lean meat, but a ton of carbs. In these six days i went from 202.5 lbs to 213.5lbs. I had just finished a cut the day before i left (125g carbs, 200g protein, 85g fat) so i'm sure i put on a lot of water weight. i've been back for 4 days and have dropped to 209 lbs. The weird thing is that i look only slightly fatter than i looked at the end of my cut. It looks like i've been on a lean-ish bulk for the last two weeks. Gym bros also said i looked like i put on a good amount of muscle. At first i thought this was just leftover glycogen from all the carbs enhancing my pumps, but on day 4 of a very restricted diet (back on my cutting macros) i still look like i made major gains while only losing slight ab definition. my lifting numbers are still around the same. fwiw, i'm a relatively experienced lifter (1000lb club in the 3 compounds) and my bf% is usually in the 12-14% range. >TL;DR i was lifting on a heavy deficit then had a week-long re-feed with no lifting. is it possible i made some delayed gains or was it all fat t-thanks

>>17009810 Possible. Heard this many times, and it might be true for many people. It's also happening in other fields where you practice a lot, for example musicians. Even though someone died, it can be described pretty simple: Holidays.
