I'm really, really sorry for asking this here but I thought I'd might get more answers than on /v/ sadly .
/v/ convinced me to get KotOR 2 for the PC; I've been avoiding the second installment because it wasn't made by BioWare but I finally caved in after all these years to play it. However, I'd like to know what sort of mods and patches, if any at all that I should download to play this game.
Now someone on /v/ linked me to this pastebin... http://pastebin.com/Cfr83GNr is this a decent mod list or are there better ones? I've tried FileFront but a lot of their downloads are broken or unusable; even the website is really buggy too.

It's a good pastebin, do as it says as it's a great modding tool. Fairly trustworthy. This is just opinion, but don't go for 'canonical jedi exile' or 'movie robes.' Kind of useless and annoying. Otherwise, it's a decent mod list, just need to find the mods manually. Should still be up on the old kotor 2 modding database, in fact.
If worse comes to worse, I can probably configure a similar list without unbroken/unusuable links.

The biggest problem is that, since he didn't like ambiguity or anything complex, he inadvertently created three films without a protagonist. The main character can't be Anakin, because he's kind've an asshole, and the audience knows he's going to end up as Darth Vader. In fact the worst case scenario he describes almost always happens more often when authors intentionally set out to write a story with an explicit point because instead of character motivations growing naturally the author plops them down into their assigned roles and there they are.

I, like many of you, suffer from problems. My problems don't involve any of your implausible ones, but mine are worth voicing to you in hope of getting some advice. Anyways, I began to play Mass Effect about two months ago, and as I dove deeper and deeper into the series, the more and more I fapped to porn of it. I continued to do so until the end of ME3. Then I played the three games again...and again... and again... I found myself checking out Liara every on-screen moment she had. I began to stop going to my regular sites just to look at porn of one person: Liara. I eventually had 1000s of pictures of Liara. I began to spend what others called absurd amounts of money on merchandise, and my apartment is coated with Liara everywhere. I've shut myself off from family and friends and felt an urge to just imagine being with Liara. Liara is all I need. She probably wouldn't like the way my family is or how my friends behave. I'm in love with Liara. I keep praying that she'll come to see me one day and decide to live with me. I have nothing left to live for but Liara. I know she can hear me, so I always talk to her telling her to come and visit me so our union can take place. So this is where you guys come into the picture. You're an all-purpose advice board. I'd take advantage of the total lack of Citadel Conventions influencing development there. Native species would have way more cybernetics and genetic modifications. I'd throw in another eusocial race like the Rachni, only no Hivemind stereotype, each colony is a nation and workers are individually sapient. But that's just because I love the eusocial hymenopterans and want to see a good take on them for once. (SOTS Hivers were pretty good, granted)

That particular example doesn't matter as much, more the general trend of "this is too much reading, cut it." when it's voluntary lore and people can skip cutscenes/reading segments anyway just fucks over the people that like to read lore/listen to voice acting without benefiting the ones that skit in in the first place.
That exp still required a minimal amount of time and money for testing and implementation, though.

Having a squadmate who was new to the galaxy, so shit could be explained to him in a way that didn't make Shepard seem like an idiot wasn't a terrible idea. What's odd is that James basically served that role for maybe, one mission, and then turned into "funny, sarcastic squadmate". He doesn't really have a clear role in the story (along with every other squadmate besides Liara and the VS), and his character arc doesn't really have a payoff besides a nice moment with Shepard at the end.

Like it or not, people are going to pick up the game fresh. Making a token effort to bring them up to speed is fine. It's just that Bioware very obviously made that a priority instead of it being a thrown bone, so James becomes emblematic of that misplaced priorities.

Because games aren't books or movie trilogies, and Mass Effect didn't have nearly the same cultural cache that the big Movie/Book series did.
While gamers are starting to value storytelling in games, there's always going to be a large percentage that isn't that keyed in. They'd go "Hey, I heard this Mass Effect series is pretty good. Didn't a new one just come out? Maybe I'll get it and try it out."
Despite our intimate knowledge of the Mass Effect universe, the idea of long form storytelling in video games, spread out across three separate games, is totally alien.
