So, why the fuck didn't I read that one sooner? I feel like this VN plays the advantages that VNs have over other mediums perfectly. Only with music and soundeffects and voiceacting and CG and backgrounds can you make a story/setting that is this outlandish so immersive. The story literally wouldn't have worked in any other medium.

Just went through most of pregnancy arc, Nagisa dying, and then the stuff with Ushio up to meeting Kyou after school, where I think I'll take a break for the moment. Was pretty intense, though. Surprisingly Nagisa's death didn't affect me that much (it had long felt like an inevitability with how much everyone was going on about abortions and how much this delivery was a bad idea) but the shit with Ushio in the flower field, and realizing that he was as bad of a father as his own father had been, and the deal about crying on Papa's chest, and then telling her about her mother on the train... That all had me tearing like a motherfuck. Also Akio and Sanae are just great as usual, I thought it was really touching how they were still their old selves and went out of their way to help Tomoya even though they were both hurt as much as he was, if not more.

Talking about LB's routes. Back when I first played it I never got myself to actually finish most of the routes. The common route had a lot of content on all of the girls so by the time I got to their particular routes I was already fed up with them. Don't get me wrong, I liked the girls, it's just that I can't be motivated to play their routes just to see more of the same antics with addition to one suddenly revealed instance of drama.

Gradually, since early highschool my powerlevel has been getting higher and higher, and I've been giving less and less fucks about what other people think of me. Kurugaya -> Rin -> Komari -> Haruka -> Kud -> Mio
that other people posted here. But if I were to give my own recommendation, I'd put either Kurugaya or Rin after Haruka because their routes were relatively relaxing and funny.

It's surprising that nobody is working on the Bishoujo Mangekyou series. Pretty much everyone seems to agree that the two games released so far are high tier wankyspanky, especially the first one.
Both are short and the Japanese used is overall easy too, so one would think that they would be a priority for nukige translators.

I liked Cross Channel better than MLA personally (even with the supposedly "butchered" translation) but it's also a completely different sort of VN. Kind of hard to call it "better" when the guy could like MLA for completely different reasons from why I liked it.

It's easier to pick out flaws than it is to praise something.
Though in Cross Channel's case, Ixrec was a very inexperienced translator when he did it, and it was a very hard game to translate properly. I think if he did it now it would have turned out better. I mean I don't think it was HORRIBLE (and I don't think that very many fan translators would have been able to do much better, either) but I think it definitely could have been better in parts.
Like I said though, it didn't ruin the experience for me. I'm mostly just parroting complaints I heard other people making after the fact. At the time I was so engrossed in it that I didn't really notice until it was pointed out to me, so it's probably not as big of a deal as people make it out to be either.
