Have you held out on buying any games to get the Wii U version?
I might not buy at launch but I will get it as soon as possible. I've been holding out on some of the enhanced ports (Arkham City, Trine 2, Ninja Gaiden 3) and gonna hold out on the multiplats (AssCreed III, NBA2k13).
The wait for the muliplats is short, the wait for the ports has been longer but worth it imo since Batman has all the GOTY content plus more, Trine 2 has the latest DLC included and Ninja Gaiden 3 has been completely reworked.

Still not sure if I'm gonna get the Wii U versions or the Wii version.
Junction Point is only developing the Wii version and it's the lead platform. All the other version are outsourced and are just upressed versions so the graphics don't mean much.

I've mostly been an mmofag since 2007 but I'm finally sick of the grindfest and heading back to single player games. Wii U looks like the place to start. The Pro Controller gives Nintendo access to multi-plat games once more and the Gamepad's screen looks extremely interesting in trailers.
I preordered one a couple days ago (Deluxe of course) but after a bit more thinking I'd advice other people to wait until March. By then Monster Hunter and Pikmin will be out and there may even be bundles you can buy.
I'm definitely glad to have one for November though. NSMBU and Assassin's Creed look fun. I'm a bit surprised no 3D mario in the works yet though

It's definitely in the works, they just haven't announced it yet. I think it's safe to say there is always a mainline Mario and Zelda game in development.
If people are comfortable with the 360/PS3 I'd suggest waiting too but I'm tired of my loud and hot PS3. Plus a lot of the games I've been playing on it have had technicals issues (mostly framerate issues) so if the Wii U multiplats are smoother because of it's extra power it's worth it to me. I've already decided to hold out on buying multiplats if they're also on Wii U.
NBA 2K13, Assassins Creed III, Trine 2, Batman, etc. I'm holding out on all of them because they're also on Wii U. Trine 2 has the latest DLC, Batman has all the GOTY content plus more and Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge is looking like a fantastic improvement

Gonna say no, actually. Not trolling, but I really didn't enjoy the Wii much at all and I got pretty frustrated with its selection of games.
I might get it eventually but not until near the end of its life cycle. I'm sure others feel the same but my opinion is likely not a majority opinion.

It didn't have western games but the Japaneses support was fantastic. The majority of the good games on Wii supported the classic controller (Monster Hunter), the ones that used motion controls used them lightly (Super Mario Galaxy) or in an intuitive ways (No More Heroes). Sure you flick the control a lot in SMG but it was just a simple flick of the wrist. There were a few games ruined by motion controls (DKC:R) but I don't think it was a big a deal as people make it out to be.

You can add the TC games and Elebits to intuitive use (luigi's mansion for a wii should use similar controls).
It has some of the best motion control I have seen, and it's starting list tells us we're looking at it definitely not having a case of nogaems.

Not the same thing but Crimson Shroud might get released on the eShop. It's based on old tabletop RPGs.
Its one of the four games in Guild 01. I know for a facto Liberation Maiden has been rated in NA and AU. I think Crimson Shroud has been rated for NA only.

Deluxe is the only way to go. There's no reason to get the basic model when the online incentive program Nintendo are going to have in place will likely pay for itself.
I'm pretty much trying to hold off on buying any games until Wii U's launch, but it's not going to be easy. I'm interested in a number of games on Wii U, though, that are going to be there on launch day:

Although I'm surprised how insane pre-orders have been. I think it's a combination of new generation of consoles hype, scalpers, stores being conservative with their shipment estimates to avoid another Wii situation, decent launch + launch window library of games, and TVii and Miiverse social functions.

In the 3DS game, you can arrange things on the touchscreen so that all the pertinent information is there, and the top screen is clear of all UI elements.

I'd just like to take this moment to express how happy I am that one of the games in Nintendoland is just full-on Balloon Fight. I spent HOURS on end playing that on that brick of a lime-green screened GameBoy.

Tried to preorder the black unit from bearstop last night... Sold out nation wide apparently. Just an FYI for those considering it as well.
Anyway, ended up getting the standard model and ZombieU.
Personally I am hoping to get more details on this TVii thing. On one hand they only talk about Tivo, in another interview they mention it working with all cables/atellite providers in the US. If I can really control my DVR, netflix, and amazon from this thing it will be pretty damn cool.

I think the thing that interests me the most about it is the roguelike nature of the game. Just the idea that progress, quest/exploration wise, carries across characters, and you can still get all your gear back, so long as you take the time to hunt down your old zombie self.

Probably won't get it at launch, fuck lines full of overexcited fanboys. When the time comes though the answer is hands down the deluxe model. Not rich but not so much of a poorfag that $50 will make a difference, I'd do it for the black alone (white appliances look liek shit), let alone the 4 times internal storage.
Pretty sure I'll have to buy a Wii U eventually just for bayonetta 2 and smash brothers. Any other could-be-fun games from there on are just a bonus...maybe the next zelda/metroid won't be total shit. Never played the mario galaxy games to any significant extent but they're supposed to be good

You mean visually it looks the same or game-play wise? The 3rd generation games really do look better than the second generation games. But until they develop a game with HD assets it won't make that massive leap in terms of graphics.
The core of the game-play is also still intact but there have been tons of additions and tweaks to the gameplay. It's a lot better than the first/second generation games.

In which case I'll get the European premium version that comes with ZombieU.

I don't know, it seems to me like Nintendo is making too many bad decisions with the WiiU.
For the price they are asking it's criminally underpowered and it still doesn't have a real killer app, Nintendo needed to have a "real" game for the WiiU at launch, A 3D Mario/Metroid/Zelda/Pokemon, even something like F-Zero would have done the trick but instead we get Nintendoland and a lazy NSMB game.

I dunno. On the one hand, I totally agree with you, and see where you're coming from, but there are two points that would speak to the contrary.
First, Nintendo was kind of in an awkward position to begin with, because where it might not be the best time to launch a new console and as you said the launch could use that "Wow" title, they are also really flagging when it comes to the Wii.
And second, of course, are the astronomical presale numbers, but who knows how well they'll do in the long run.

I'll buy it two years down the line when it's down to $200 and they release Monster Hunter 5 and the WiiU Gamepad Plus that renders the old $100+ controllers obsolete for all future games.
Why don't any of you realize that Nintendo makes all of their money off of expensive peripherals?
Example: Family buys Wii, family has kids, so they have to buy 3 Wii controllers, plus 3 nunchuks. Nintendo releases Motion Plus, family has to buy 4 new controllers. Nintendo releases classic controller, family buys 4 of those.
They made the controller a fucking iPad because they can charge that much more for it and any stupid variations or mandatory upgrades they release down the line.
All that being said, it seems pretty cool, and unlike the Wii, I'm pretty pumped about it, but I have no interest in dropping money on it until it establishes a decent library and Nintendo gets their first year or two's worth of console/peripheral upgrades and rereleases out of the way.

Its only being released, at the very least, a year before the new Xbox and maybe even the new Playstation. Wii U will probably end up being, in terms of techinical specs, the Xbox of its generation.

No, only sticking to what's exclusive or if the Wii U version has exclusive features in the game that really stand out (Armored Edition of Arkham City is a good example).
Only two months away! I got to play the Wii U at an event in New York City back in June, so I've been pretty damn excited ever since.

I see what you mean. I destroyed Max Payne 1 and loved every moment of it. I felt it didn't need a sequel or could pull one off, story-wise.
It did, though. Twice. Granted, 2 and 3 were passable, they felt unnecessary.

If you can live without those I think you're good. Storage space doesn't matter since you can use SD cards and any external hardrive you want

Yeah, thats what I'm thinking. I have a 1tb external that I'm not using thats gonna be permanently connected to it. The 8gb will be perfect for game saves. Plus I have the 2gb SD Card that came with the 3DS that I'm not using.

I also heard places stopped taking pre-orders of the peasant edition as well.
