Look if you want dumb church organ gameplay then pick a warlock.
Firemage is dynamic and all about tracking dots and trying to get the most out of combustion.
Its super frustrating but also rewarding as hell when everything lines up perfectly.
Yes you can just spam combustion the second its off cooldown but good firemages will shit all over you.
In fact I would still play firemage if those retards didnt fuck up the Firemage AoE that hard.
Arcane is interesting too but only on paper. In execution its the most boring piece of shit that they put into the game.

prot damage is down a bit, but the selfhealing is pretty stupid now. with heirlooms you should be able to solo pretty much everything, but you have to be a bit careful with pulling, as until you get sanctuary at 62 or something, you take a lot of damage.

It makes sense that the pandaren either worship, worshipped, or are possibly even akin to Ursoc and Ursol in much the same way as the dwarves/earthen were to the titans. This is given much credence by the pandaren's shamanistic culture and "earthy" civilization (Ursol), combined with their feral combat skills and love of brew (Ursoc). They also appear to have a friendly disposition and seem to be similar in many other ways as well.

The old gods themselves caused the stone creatures the titans put on the planet to turn to flesh.
All creatures on azeroth walk a fine line between being the complete order the titans created (stone/machine) and falling into madness and a singularity (faceless ones)
All in all its a rather nice story but it has been around since warcraft 3 and they are just milking it. Not to say they created the idea of order vs chaos but its certainly interesting for the warcraft setting.

I like to believe that azeroth itself is really some kind of old god and that is the reason the titans went there in the first place.
Its also the reason that sargeras is constantly trying to take over the world.
Its the reason there are so many old gods for a single planet. They have been there for a long time after their defeats and only recently went active.
If you look at lovecraft which warcraft takes heavily from you can ese Azathoth is a great old one who is some kind of great chaotic god that is unintelligent but with tons of power.
It all makes a lot of sense and I believe that is what warcraft will ultimately boil down to, a confrontation with this massive monster that even the Titans and Sargeras fear.
Then again this is all speculation and I could be completely wrong and these things could all just be coincidence.

So: Thrall. Obviously Thrall feels that Garrosh is his mistake. We explored some of his emotions around this in the "Elemental Bonds" questline in patch 4.2. For that reason, he'll DEFINITELY play a role in the ultimate conflict in Orgrimmar. But maybe not the role you'd expect.
He'll be lying low in 5.0, but the current plan is for you to catch up with him in 5.1. (That content is still in development, so don't hold me to that.)
Also, Horde and Alliance players will be happy to know that he'll be focused on Horde content this time around, not a neutral NPC helping both factions (which made sense in Cataclysm, but overwhlemingly the feedback is players want to see him be Hordey again. Yeah, I just made that word up.)

Chen and company went on a secret mission to Theramore Island to help the Horde find out why the humans were attacking them. They met with Jaina Proudmoore, who decided to help them out, after seeing what her father had done.[2] Chen helped Rexxar to defend Thrall and Durotar from Kul Tiras incursions. When the Horde was prepared they launched an attack that ended with the death of Grand Admiral Proudmoore.[3]
After the battle Chen spent some time in Durotar teaching the brewmaster ways to the mentor of Brewmaster Drohn before travelling on.[4] No one knows where he left afterwards, but several of his empty kegs have been found scattered throughout the Barrens.[5] Like the rest of his people, he has apparently maintained his independence, joining neither the Horde nor the Alliance.

Modern weaponry? Night Elf seige is about as primitive as seige can get aside from a basic battering ram (their seige essentially beiing "lets shoot a battering ram with a simple rope system). Their armors expose way to much skin, their weapons are ALL poorly designed (the glaive when used at melee should shatter your wrist due to it's poor design, when throw... wel just about any sort of thrown weapon would be preferable due to the poor aerodynamics on the big chunk of metal). And their bows are all as basic as you can get with a bow.
By modern seige, arms, and armor, I mean plated armors, guns, weapons that are built for functionality rather than looking pretty (the Warden's hoop weapon is pants on head retarded. It offers no leverage and it's serrated edges would just chip right off.). We also have tanks, mortors, airships, and boats build for war (night elf boats are built for travel).
Night Elf Military is HORRIBLE, full of poorly made weapons, bad covering armors, forces that were never trained for extended fights, machines of war that can take down a wooden barricade and not much more, and forces lacking any sort of real variety.

All pets of the same school do the same damage - Lions (cats) are probably the best for levelling because they boost your agility, which is your damage stat.

Planning on rolling a new character at release:

I already got all the heirlooms ready and everything else I will need for leveling. I'm just debating on two things now:
1) What professions to go with (I have everything already on my other toons, so I don't "need" anything in particular)
2) Whether I should even bother trying to level at launch. This is going to be the absolute WORST launch of an expansion to date for the new "race/class" simply because it's going to be Alliance AND Horde all stuffed into one zone. So I'm expecting it to be absolutely horrible on day one. Am I correct in this, or has Blizzard come up with some way to not make it horrible on release?
