How do dead angle work?
I mean, I've already watched the vid with all the explanations, but English isn't my native language and I'd like some precisions.
If I didn't misunderstand it, I need to attack my opponent "behind his shield" like pic related.
First question: It must be a horizontal slash attack. Why? Can it work with a thrust attack for example?
Second question: I need to be "behind the shield" of my opponent, so, the attack must be a running attack or a jumping attack and I also have to hope my opponent moves toward me so I can dead angle him when I hit, is that correct? Let's say that I use the Estoc. The 1HR2 should be okay for dead angles. Then what am I supposed to do against a complete turtle, someone who'll just keep on facing me and poking me with his spike behind his crest shield/BKS and won't do anything else?

An FPS fix won't happen. The game is built at 30FPS, the timescale is client sided based on the framerate. If you increase it to 60FPS, the game will move at twice the speed.

I've used that dsfix thing so that I can adjust resolutions, and everything seems alright rolling through the menus.
When the game actually starts though, the screen is quartered sorta. The gameplay screen is in the top left filling a quarter of the display, but the menu and ui spread across the monitor as normal.
Furthermore, if I go into the video options during play, the gameplay screen is resized correctly to fill the monitor but only during the options.
What am I being derp about?

I've only got chunks with 410, but when I rolled off a ledge into bottomless-hole water and so only had the gold serpent ring equipped I found one on the way back. And I've read a lot of people have farmed more than 50 chunks without getting a slab with 410 item discovery.

Also, is eagle shield worth it? The 95 physical defense turn me down. I'm using that kite shield +5 that the first blacksmith sells (not the tower one, but there isn't really any difference)

You need purple. Not the purple which is blooming and so has white flowers. Just the normal purple.
Toxic is different from poison and that shit at the bottom of blighttown causes poison.
Also, poison does fuckall damage and you can just use a single estus after it wears off to bring you to full.

Okay, so after like 3 hours of trying to forward ports and switching the modem I have with another modem of the same model I had laying around. Forwarded ports because I could never get people summoned or people to see my sign usually. I got my ports forwarded for all of but one which is port 3074 and I can't see anyone's sign at all anymore.

They're also cheese-able. You can lure them to the entrance by ducking in an out and can get some hits on them with pyromancy. Or if you were very patient you could arrow them to death.

wanderer is the best starter for it if you want minimal str (a nice way to stave off the temptation of using bigger weapons), 10 is enough to use all the 3.0 shields, rapiers, and the good straight swords. tower kite has the best stability for that weight.

You can't escape his combo once you get hit by any part of it. Just back up when you see him roaring with his arms out meaning that he's about to start up the combo. Then go in once he's finished with his jump to get a few hits in while he regains stance.
If you block some of it you can move out of range of subsequent hits, but if all 5 hits hit your shield he'll definitely break your guard.

Come on now. Don't block Artorias's stuff. That's just wrong. His attacks are all very high damaging but very easy to roll out of the way if you have fast roll. Definitely the best way to beat him is to just not bother getting hit at all. Trying to block means you have to keep stamina at max or he'll break your guard and near one-shot you (or actually one-shot you with his thrust since it hits twice) once he powers up.

If you're using a Dex/Faith build you could try something like Divine Ricard's Rapier+5.
Ricard's heavy attack is a bunch of quick stabs that all do the enchantment damage (in this case Holy damage boosted by your Faith) so you can rack up some decent burst with that.
You'll need some form of fire damage for the 4 Kings though.

-The entirety of lower undead burg (or w/e the Capra demon's area is called), what with the parrying backstabbing undeads coming at you out of nowhere with their stupid dogs. Capra demon himself is also pretty cheap.
-First fight with Seath.
That's it, I think. About 4% of the game. Pretty good ratio.
Dark Souls is a difficult, but fair game.

You can tell what chest is a mimic, it's about details.

Coming out of nowhere? They kick doors up very loudly, dogs do very little damage if just blocked and the parrying undead are very easily shown when they are going to parry you, ergo, if you don't mash R1, then you won't get your shit parried.

Yes. If you're starting out you won't be able to do low level runs without being horribly violated. Plus, some of the best weapons need either high stats in certain fields or scale with stats so it does make things a lot easier.

VIT gives you more health. It's not particularly important if you're just going to PvE though since bosses scale their damage with your level so they can't one-shot you. But itmight make things easier, and is fairly useful in PvP.
END raises both your equip capacity and your max stamina. It is a pretty important and useful stat. For maximum stamina it has to be 40. After which it only increase your equip capacity. Equip capacity being the amount you can equip before you become slower.
RES is useless. Don't level it.
Faith, Intelligent, Strength and Dexerity are all damage attributes. Strength and dexerity are used for weapon damage scaling in a lot of weapons but faith and intelligence are used in a few too. Faith and intelligence are also used for spell damage scaling and miracles and sorceries have specific intelligence and faith requirements in order to use them.
Attunement gives you extra spell slots so you can equip more spells and have more spell castings before you need to rest. It increases the number of slots at certain levels so you're better off planning on how many spell slots you want before leveling it, and then leveling it to a specific appropriate level when you know.
Leveling affects who you can coop with and who you can be invade and be invaded by. You generally have to be an appropriate level for an area in order to do coop with people in it. And if you're too high a level you'll have trouble invading people. There are specifics you should look at the wiki for.

Since you're starting out, scaling doesn't matter that much, but the more you're in a position to put points into a stat, the more you'll see an improvement if it has an S,A or B rating in it.

so i was running around firelink shrine looking for where the pyromancer had relocated to when i fell down the hole where Frampt is
so it ensues that i discovered firelink alter, where it invited me to place the Lordvessel, which i did and it opened the way to the dukes archive and some other places
afterwards i decided to go fight the 4 kings where i heard if you dont talk to Frampt after acquiring the Lordvessel, you can speak to Kaathe. after beating them, he didnt appear, and then when i went back to talk to Frampt, he basically told me to fuck off and he disappeared down his hole

Super O is pretty easy. Stay near but just in front of him and hug near his left, your right, leg. He'll then loop two attacks, the electric butt slam or his electric spear jab whilst jumping backwards; both are easily avoidable. As soon as he jumps in the air dodge back, for the spear as soon as it starts to electrify dodge forwards. So long as you do this right and close him down when he jumps away they're the only two attacks he'll use. I recommend using light armour, but my fellow /v/ and /vg/ goers are insistant that you can do it in medium armour.

The safest place is underneath him, but that's also the worst place to be when he does his butt splash.
Whenever he does anything other than butt splash, ROLL TOWARDS him and attack his groin area twice. One single R2 with a greatsword/ult greatsword would suffice. Then move away a bit in case he does a buttsplash.
Don't be afraid of his electric spear grab, like I said, just roll TOWARDS him. You can easily do this with normal roll speed.

For agile strong, you'd want a warrior. They are your general overall characters, not too heavy starting equip, but not too weak on defense or damage either.
Quite plain and simple though, if you are thinking of Thief, choose Wanderer instead. Thief's weapon is more for backstabs and ripostes, something you won't know how to do well.

Hey dsg, I was just wondering if a summon sign I leave disappearing means that I fucked up and my network isn't letting Dark Souls do it's thing or if its something that happens over time.
I've also never been invaded and I've been playing for a few hours now, just got to that dragon bridge and managed to barely dodge out of the way before the dragon hit the bridge, lost some HP but nothing an estus flask didn't fix.

First off only three times? Dude if I kill a boss in anything under 5 attempts, I call that a victory. Secondly, no offence but you're simply not doing it right then, or you're in heavy armour and can't move quick enough. When it comes to bosses you should be full on avoiding damage, not mitigating it with heavy armour.
