Just so you have some background when I make this post: I am somebody applying to PhD programs in science who loves and adores the subject. I have a few questions for /sci/: do you think the amount of practical knowledge we can gain from science is finite? Do you think that scarcity of elements will place finite restrictions on the practical knowledge we can attain? Does the continual evolution of the human condition make humanities a more viable long-term industry/path of study than sciences? Not to bash or disrespect sciences, merely to postulate.

All knowledge, being contained in a universe with finite material, is finite in scope. The universe is big enough that we don't have to worry about that yet.
