You may want to loosen up a bit and let the alcohol take you, do crazy stupid shit (although get drunk alone a few times first to get all the drunk tears out [you'll now what I mean when it happens]). Why does /r9k/ bash on anyone that says they don't like drinking? Not everyone wants to drink. I don't like the taste of alcohol, nor the social aspects of drinking in American society(get wasted, fuck bitches, #YOLO) so I do not drink. Why should OP or anyone conform to your opinion?

I used to drink 700ml whiskey a day for a year, Two triples in the morning, then I'd brush my teeth twice and chew gum. Went to Uni and got decent grades, then I just stopped, I wasn't physical dependent or anything. Haven't had a drink in over a year.

It was really expensive drinking that much, so when my hours got cut I couldn't afford and had to stop. I was pretty agitated for a week or two then just went back to normal.

I don't like clubbing and everybody I know loves it except my girlfriend (she used to love it). It's bullshit. I lost my old group of friends because the only time they got together they would be drinking a lot and then going to a bar and drink there. I liked doing that once in three months, not every friday and saturday.

Just stay indoors and shit. Even my most aspie nerd friends (wizards in training etc) all like to drink, but at least they don't like going to clubs so I go to the pub with them about once every 3/4 months. The two times I've been drunk were pretty boring as well, just ended up off balance for a while and then got bored in a club (my feet actually did hurt and I wished I was at home playing video games).

Yeah you can do that. A lot of brew houses have platters you can get with x number of samples. They're about two shots worth of whatever beers you want.
If you have close friends or siblings, just ask to try a taste of what they're drinking.
People won't make fun of you because you don't know what you like. If you're young, how are you suppose to know that stuff?

I don't mind the drinking culture in Britain (if anything it seems pretty funny) but seriously every single person drinks excluding the religious. You can't go out without being able to drink.
Luckily I've found a somewhat well adjusted guy at uni who doesn't need to get wasted and pull clunge 24/7 so I go round his and play Tekken/Soul Calibur and listen to 90s Hip-Hop on a few nights. Feelsgoodman.

OP, I'm not much of a drinker but as a twenty-something with a social life I sometimes find myself at bars or parties.
In those instances I'll have a couple of hard ciders. Really good stuff, doesn't even taste like alchohol either. It's all good, but Angry Orchard is best.
