Yo smokers of /r9k/, >what's your brand >when and why did you start >do you ever want to quit >do you smoke weed on top of cigs or just cigs. I personally like the taste of American Spirit lights, but they're a little expensive. I usually end up buying Camel if I feel like being cheap. I started in college as an excuse to fuck off from people for a while and not have to talk for 10 minutes because I hated my school and the people that went there, but after my freshman year it kind of took a mind of it's own and became an addiction. I've told myself I'm going to quit once I finish my next year, which is my senior year, and I'm hoping I'll follow through because smoking is such a frowned upon thing, and I'm tired of being called out on it. I occasionally smoke weed, but not nearly as much as I used to when I was going through my depression.

Straight weed because I don't like physically addictive drugs in me. I prefer my drugs to be mentally addictive, thank you very much!

You smoke cigarettes and take drugs, you "plan" to quit later and you're quitting because other people told you to What a loser.

>>7736648 >Lights Consider graduating to the best fucking cigarettes on Earth. They will make your voice sound like George Fisher. Also, if you're going to quit, do it because you want to, not because of other people's opinions. Where do you live that people "call you out" on it, anyway? California?

>>7736696 It's not really that I'm doing it because everyone else says too. I'm moving to Seattle next year to hopefully work with Microsoft interning if everything pans out, and I don't think that being a code monkey while having a smoking addiction is going to benefit me. Also, I'd rather not hear shit every 5 minutes about how I need to quit. It's annoying more than it is embarrassing. If getting people to shut up and leave me alone is as simple as quitting, then yeah I'll take it. I know it's not good for me already, but I just gotta make it through this last year and then I'll stop.

I used to smoke American Spirits Blue, but just a few weeks back I switched to Camel Turkish Royals, as they're more than a buck cheaper, I like the taste more, and they're not as thick so they're easier to smoke even if they don't burn as long. I don't want to risk trying anything else until I know I'll like it, as one time I ended up being poor for a day and had to get a pack of Pyramid cigs which were fucking toxic and awful. Been smoking on and off since I was 16, started with me sneaking a couple cigs at a time from my parents when they weren't looking. Once I was 18, I started to buy my own, though I didn't smoke regularly. Now, at 20, I smoke no more than a quarter pack a day, and have been for the past few months. Told myself I would quit on new years', and at 20, and at the beginning of summer, but ended up failing to meet every deadline. I really hate the habit but I like cigs a lot. Probably gonna try to taper off over the summer. If you're trying to quit, OP, the sooner the better. And yeah I smoke weed, a lot of weed, every day

>>7736789 That's actually not a terrible idea. There are some flavors that are actually really tasty, but for some reason the eCigs just aren't as satisfying. It may be a good way to transition though. >>7736777 mah nigga They don't sell those where I am right now. It hurts my soul.

>>7736816 Nah...vapes are too different. I like the feel of a cigarette. I like rolling it between my fingers before I light up. I like the texture of the smoke. I like the ability to flick it onto the pavement when I'm done. A vape would be a good idea but a better solution would be to stop smoking entirely, which is what I intend to do. I tried e-cigarettes too but I could never get a buzz.

>what's your brand Organic fullbodied american spirits, marlboro reds >when and why did you start When I was 16. Was sitting around with my gf just chillin' when I asked for a puff of her cig, it was the most serene feeling ever, such a nicotine buzz washed over me since it was a newport, and I just layed on her shoulder and felt so connected to her and she was all that mattered at that very moment. All I could mutter out was 'so this is why people smoke'. I'm pretty sure that's everybodies reaction to their first cigarette. >do you ever want to quit Hell no. Just sitting back relaxing and watching the smoke float away with all my troubles for 10 minutes is just too much to give up. I don't even catch a buzz anymore, I just like to sit back and enjoy my 10 minute break from life. >do you smoke weed on top of cigs or just cigs. Yep. With friends, and alone. Haven't smoked in a while though since I'm on vacation and too lazy to get hookups for the past 10 days over here. Me and my friends are gonna celebrate me coming back and get blitzed off our asses.

I didn't pick it up after that. It's been about 14 months, and I haven't had one since. I don't think I'll pick it up again because really the only memories I have with smoking are with her, so it's not like smoking mattered to me all that much.

I don't smoke very often, but I think I'll have one right now. I have a pack of American Spirits blue that I bought in April.
