I'd like to write a novel that is just like the Scarlet Letter. But instead of an adulterer branded with an 'A', it's a robot branded with a 'V' for virgin. It wouldn't be sarcastic. It would portray the hardships of robots who are shamed by a culture that now encourages adultery. I'd like to make it match Hawthorne's writing style and also be set in the same city only in 201X, and have characters' names be the same or slightly different to show how things have changed but are still the same.

A full-length novel in a dystopian future where the United States of America has balkanized and now resembles the various hells depicted in /pol/'s "Privilege Checked" greentexts. It'll be one of those "Stranger in a strange land" stories, basically, with all sorts of bizarre locations, from the Job Creator Domes of Romney's America, to the sissification cuckoldries of San Francisco, and even to the court of Muh Dickness himself, Barack Obama, God-Emperor of Greater Detroit.

just thinking out loud: i have this idea that there must be a way to "cure" herpes. how you may ask? I don't know how. but if there was a way to create something(mixing things together, finding a way to activate the immune system to work together with this "something") and this combination would help the body transform the herpes virus into chicken pox(meaning no more herpes because it was transformed), and since the immune system can make that dormant there would be no more herpes in the human body. i wish i could make myself smart.

A video game where you can travel to any war in the history of time and fight. Also, you can bring any weapon to any time period, or just participate as a regular soldier. >mowing down redcoats with machine guns >driving a humvee through Roman Battlefields >slicing Nazis with samurai swords >dat multiplayer >millions of optional rules >tons of maps >zombie levels >bonus unlockable future war levels >ability to switch from 1st to 3rd person >potential for lots of DLC >difficulty settings that are fair (Native Americans can rape you even if you have a helicopter on hard mode) It would probably be a best-seller.

I was thinking of something similar, being able to assassinate historical figures and sway wars one way or the other to change history, and every time you did, you'd get a spinning newspaper that said "French Win WWII!" or something. I've always had this weird sort of idea. It's too small to be a proper book but I thought it might be a good submission for NaNoWriMo or something. It's basically this museum tour guide and he's giving a tour around different segments of the museum to a class of young, disinterested children. Eventually it turns out it's actually a simulation of a museum: they're on a spaceship and the man is trying to teach the children about Earth, which they've never seen. Hints are dropped throughout the story implying it's not during our time. I wrote the original for a test in high school and got an A. I was really proud of it.

I was a little on drugs yesterday when I came up with this idea, A smartphone...that's in the form factor of a 2.5" SSD and is a 2.5" SSD just with cellular capabilities. Everyone always bitches that their phone only has 16 GB or 32 GB with no microSD slot. Well Why not make the whole phone a 128, 256, or 512 GB SSD? The point would be to be able to take your desktop OS, programs, and settings and hot swap it with laptops and shit. Again...drugs.

I would love a game where you could be a regular warrior in an ancient battlefield (modern could also work though). And I mean regular warrior. Not an army leader (like M&B), not a super strong hero, not a regular soldier in name only who can take 100 bullets and killt housands of enemies (like in CoD). Just a regular guy who is just as squishy as the other 10000 soldiers on the field.

>>4796007 I think SSDs are really slow compared to regular drives. If you try to run an OS from an SSD it might take a minute to type a letter or something. I had an mp3 player with an internal hard drive and an SSD slot. You couldn't even see your song list when it was playing a song from SSD.

I always thought this would be neat idea for a book/movie/TV series. It's an alternate universe, set in 1959. In this reality, the moon landing occurred soon after WWII in 1948, and in the years that followed, the space race took off hugely. By 1959, the US and the Soviets are still doing their cold-war thing, with espionage, conflicts, and M.A.D, but in space. Space is actually handled by the Navy, and spaceships very closely resemble submarines (think about it, spacecraft should actually be closer to subs than they are to planes). But the human race isn't ready to go to space, both sides are cranking out spaceships and building outposts on other planets, but this technology is rushed through development to beat the other side. So a large portion of the plot would be man vs. technology in a retro-future where men are exploring the solar system and struggling to get by with technology that could barely leave Earth at all, all while involved in constant conflicts with the Soviets. Like Blind Man's Bluff and the Hunt for Red October in space. The plot would probably focus around one American ship and its crew, which would be a little reminiscent of Star Trek. I don't really have the talent to write it, though. But I'd love to see it.

An open-world highly realistic survival game that takes place in a mountainous, forested region You start with nothing but a t-shirt, shorts, and a backpack, and have to make shelter and everything you use and find food and water Sometimes you'll have to fight off or flee from wild animals In these situations and others, your adrenaline will increase, allowing you to perform actions you couldn't normally do, like moving more quickly, running longer, or moving rocks that are usually to heavy to budge, but using adrenaline-boosted abilities like this will cause you to be more fatigued after it wears off There are seasons, and if you don't find a sufficiently warm shelter and make thicker clothing, you'll freeze to death The only thing I'm not sure about is how to give it an interesting story or just some direction in general, because aimlessly surviving for years might not be a very exciting game after a while

A game of high heroism, knights, princesses, and dragons Except you're the dragon. The game which starts with you as a dragon hatchling. The first mission is "eat your siblings." You gain strength from them quickly, and soon you're able to hold your own against a knight. You'd be able to fly into towns and demand tribute, you'd be able to learn magic spells and create a lair. it'd be sick as shit yo

>>4803528 Oh, and also There are some RPG elements, like various skills that increase from using them a lot There are things like fishing (to catch fish more easily and catch bigger and tastier ones as it gets higher) and foraging, to help identify what is and isn't safe to eat and effectively gather it Physique helps you build up strength and endurance, which is helpful for fighting off animals, and this benefits the hunting skill, affecting your ability to kill land animals for their meat and other resources Construction helps you build better shelters, and crafting lets you make all kinds of things, from protective/warm clothing, to crude poisons, to simple weapons and traps, and at the highest levels you can make a fairly effective bow and arrows Forestry lets you do miscellaneous acts like chopping down trees, starting fires, clearing vegetation, etc The game would be extremely freeform, and if you feel like putting in the effort, you can live in a heavily fortified cave with effective traps, stockpiling food and water, and wearing thick leather clothing and wielding poisoned spears and arrows Or you can just start forest fires

>basically gta in space >customization of saint row 2- make your own alien race, choose what they look like and what they wear >spaceship building system from spore, but the pieces you choose have individual stats >spaceships show the damage taken from battles and collisions like cars in GTAIV >multiple players are able to band together to build bigger ships that they must co-operate to fly >able to leave your ship in a spacesuit >can raid other ships if you're lucky enough to board one >can build your own weapons from the ground up (similar to COD) >light rpg elements from fallout3/new vegas (perks when you level up/genetic or mechanical alterations can be bought) >physics system like red dead redemption (ragdoll characters that don't flop around) >full gore, characters can be completely dismembered >set in a large solar system containing multiple planets with multiple cities and places to explore >also plenty of random areas like asteroid fields and spacepirate hideouts to explore in space >if you leave the solar system, everything outside it's borders is randomly generated and significantly more harder to survive >full story quest with 4 player co-op (on one console) >10x the interesting quests in skyrim (NO FUCKING GENERIC FETCH QUESTS) >enemies have different factions, as well as aimless space pirates and nightmare-fuel alien creatures >full multiplayer, where you can explore space and run into other players and choose to team up or fight with them But who am I kidding, everything coming out is stupid brown shooters.
