hi, femanon who was professionally evaluated and diagnosed with aspergers when she was 5 reporting in;
I had a meeting with my university (UoW) on the 4th for an hour and we discussed this because it was regarding my IEP. I was told that anybody in Canada professionally diagnosed before 2012 would retain the AS diagnosis and label by both education and government and it wouldn't phase over to 'autism spectrum', and that the benefits of the label would still exist for such people.
Anybody diagnosed after 2012 will be phased over to 'autism spectrum' and be treated much like somebody with ADHD.

I have autism to the point where I need someone else to tell me, based on my body language, how I am feeling. I have no conscious emotions or justification for what I am doing. I have no idea why I do anything, and when I question that I stop doing anything at all, because the higher levels of my mind cannot comprehend purpose or something.
Actually I'm starting to think I'm not so much autistic as unconscious. Except that I know I'm mostly unconscious, because people always describe these mental states I don't have.
