Have you met a serving or former Marine who isn't a huge douchebag? I haven't.

I haven't met anyone from the military that was a douche. It's understandable since they recruit the lowest of the low.

Not ever, OP. High five. >waiting for militant fuckheads to come in and start spewing their brainwashed nonsense

4 min later 3915034 Anonymous
Nope. For some reason the ones that made it out alive feel that they're entitled to something. They're only entitled to something in my mind if they've died in battle, because then they've actually done something honorable (fought AND died for a country they loved).

8 min later 3915063 Anonymous
The only people I've seen in the military were assholes. Even the ones I've seen applying for it tend to be brutish, thuggish douchebags.

15 min later 3915126 Anonymous
Most military people I know have been cool folks. They tend to not be as uptight and have a good sense of humor, but can serious when needed. I play with a lot of ex mehreens in online games, hell even in WoW there were a few. I will admit the two biggest douches I knew in that game were marines, but one of them was the funny-but-abrasive kind, not the asshole kind. The other was just straight up full of himself, I'm sure he would've been like that marine or not, though.

My uncle was in the Army, I think he was wrenching on Apaches and such during desert storm. Hes pretty cool. His wife is a cunt though, conveniently while she was in Florida visiting her family with their son and daughter she had him vacuum the whole house (two stories, top floor is 3 bed 2 bath with a titanic living room, basement is 2 bed 1 bath and a study type room with another very large in-home theater) pull the weeds in their very large back yard, cut down some of the low hanging branches on the trees they've got and re mulch the little wood-chippy circles under them. I think there was some other stuff too, like lay down base boards in one of the non carpeted rooms in the basement. Oh, and she wanted him to clean all the mirrors and windows and the oven and the counters and what not in the bathrooms. As I said before, all while she was conveniently on vacation in sunny Florida probably making my Grandma drive her kids around doing whatever.

At this point in time the military is pretty much the shithole option where people without money or talent go. The enlisted men are generally at the worst level of trash, kept in line only through intimidation and threat. Officers are generally better, and it might be different for armies with mass conscription or restrictions that keep out the shit. But for most western militaries, this is the case.

I briefly dated this Marine for a while, 5'6 manlet with an addiction to Maplestory. I broke it off with him, and he threw a huge fit over Facebook towards my new boyfriend. We saw him at the mall IRL, and all he did was look down at the ground and scurry away. What a pussy.

I remember in highschool our teachers boyfriend was a marine and he came in to talk to us. We all had to write down 5 question for him. Many of mine were chosen to be answered. One of the questions was something to the effect of "Do you have any animosity towards the government seeing as how they gave weapons and training in the 90s to the exact same people you are fighting against today?". He said that he does not. They were allies then, and though perhaps some mistakes were made by the government, now they are the enemy. It disturbs me how little rationalization he needed to kill what must have been dozens of people over his decade of service.
