Same way I feel about how women wear little to no clothes in North America Both of them being a male dominated culture with the women being objected

4 min later 3901527 Anonymous
They don't look very pretty. I think it's stupid of France to ban them though. Infringing on somebody's freedom for doing something that harms no one is wrong. A person should be allowed to wear a black robe over themselves as much as any other piece of clothing. Wearing a hijab is no idffernt from walking around dressed as a ghost.

That's not a Hijab. This is a Hijab. And I think they're fine. However, when someone covers their face when you're having a conversation is kinda rude. However in the west it's nearly unheard of. It's a tiny majority that covers their face.

The east oppresses women by forcing them to shield their bodies The west oppresses women by forcing them to wear as less as possible and act like sluts. Also, that is not a hijab.

Social Democrat here. I don't mind the hijab. I dislike the burka. That's a burka, not a hijab. It's not the business of the state what people wear. So in the end, my personal views are academic.

I was friends with a girl who wore one. It wasn't even mandatory, she's just hardcore islam and enjoys wearing it. It was actually a little cute. But I don't even care anymore, people are cool with fake boobs, but through a shitfit over a hood

>>3901576 Girls seek to emulate their mothers. If their mothers dressed like whores, they want to dress like bigger whores. But since the advent of mass media, the "mother" in that equation has been replaced by pop icons. Hijab is more than simple clothing requirements, though. Its an entire set of behavioral requirements. To the point the "so oppressed" comic is bullshit. As Islamic women aren't even allowed to think along those lines.

Burkas cover the face. Hijabs are just a head covering. What are you, a massive faggot? Burkas are pretty hot when there's a hot woman under it.

>>3901589 >"nothing covered but her eyes" you know, she IS wearing a bikini.. it's not like the one on the left is nude. plus the woman on the left has a good body. hell, i wish any woman below a 7/10 would cover up with a burqa, they'd be doing all of us a favor and we can let them believe they're being modest and making us feel frustrated.

41 min later 3901695 Anonymous
In hot as fuck, harsh deserts where a woman would have to remain outside for long periods of time, the one and only way to maintain their skin was dressing like a beekeeper. The problem with religion based cultures is, while they're defined by the environment in which they were created, adding "GOD" to the start of everything translates to idiotic attempts to maintain unnecessary clothing requirements across multiple climates.

I see girls with burkas all over my uni campus. It usually makes me wonder what they think of the shit going on around them. I mean, there she is, a girl practicing one of the most conservative religions in the world, you can't even see her face, and she's surrounded by a bunch of liberal college aged Americans. They're practicing their religion in a country that is essentially at war with that religion. Seems like sending the women to a western university goes against their culture, might as well not wear the burka.

>>3901879 awesome list, thank you for explaining the differences. i think these look hot and uncomfortable, but i also don't think i have any right to tell someone else they can't wear something for their beliefs because of my beliefs. as long as they don't try and make me wear one, they can do what they want. start pushing to change how i dress because you find living in my country offends your religious sensibilities tho & i will urge you to gtfo. tolerance is a two-way street & too often i feel like religious fundies expect tolerance of their beliefs but won't return the respect (goes for jewish, christian, islamic, etc.).

>>3901879 Wouldn't it be nice if these things didn't have the 'WE HAVE TO MAKE EVERYONE DO IT' stuff in arab countries? A personal religious choice some women took in EVERY country, not just here. Imagine a world where a Niqab wearing girl wasn't a beacon of diversity, but just the smart but religious and shy girl you knew in school.
