ANYTHING GOES! --- I'll start this thread off by asking: have you ever dun goof with your resume? Tell me about it. (Maybe something you wrote in it whilst you were younger and thought was cool and "forward" and now is cringe-worthy as fuck. Or what the hell do I know)

My resume has usually been pretty awful. I've worked in about 15 jobs so far- I'm 30 so I guess that's an average of two jobs a year? Despite having a B. science degree, I haven't been able to secure reliable and relevant employment. Pic is a pot of stock I made today, I was going to post on /ck/ but it didn't look all that appetising. It tasted fine though.

>>11004087 I think it looks great. Very green. What will you use the stock for, any plans?

I am a talented and hardworking chef at a reputable steakhouse chain making about 2x minimum wage. On my resume I list that my title is Assistant kitchen manager; this is because we have no kitchen managers at all and people are always coming to me with their problems, other managers expect me to stay late and come in early, and i do the responsibilities of a kitchen manager when they need done. Am i lieing? I dont believe im being dishonest at all, since i basically do the position i list as my title anyways.

>>11004694 Yes, you're lying. That being said: Have you ever thought about asking your boss to give you the title of assisting manager?

>>11004694 Not worried it'll be bad if some new possible employer call your reference? I'm assuming that's your current boss. Morally, I don't think you're doing something wrong.

>>11004717 I'm in training for the position as well, forgot to mention that, but our proprietor is basically checked out and doesnt give a single fuck to advance me cause her contract is up in >6months so while im interviewing for new jobs, I will tell them the full extent of the situation. >>11004723 In my state, if you call a previous employer they are legally only allowed to state whether you did or didnt work there and from when till when.

>>11004694 Is that the amount of money you make per day on the right? That's like 1-2 hours worth of minimum wage each day...

>>11004743 >In my state, if you call a previous employer they are legally only allowed to state whether you did or didnt work there and from when till when. WTF So the only purpose of references are to make sure you aren't lying about your previous work places? At least where I live references are for recommending/warning about someone. Like "yeah Josh worked here, he's a lazy fuck don't employ him" or "Anne's the best employee we ever had" or stuff like that.

>>11004785 Its also a "Right to work state" which means they can fire you for any reason or no reason what so ever. That also means i pay taxes(52$annually) just for HAVING A FUCKING JOB! And people on welfare dont pay this tax. >>11004781 No those are the total hours i worked that day.

>>11004801 >That also means i pay taxes(52$annually) just for HAVING A FUCKING JOB! And people on welfare dont pay this tax. Don't see the problem with this. Learn how taxes work.

>>11004785 It's kinda the same where I live except employers are allowed to recommend you but not badmouth you. So prospective employers know that if a previous employer refuses to say anything except the dates you were employed they're basically saying you were a shit employee. It's supposed to be about a persons right to employment.
