This is because more often than not, virgin girls don't really want to be virgins, they're just following some arbitrary rules imprinted on them by their parents, but once they lose their virginity it 'doesn't really matter anymore' so they go off and do what they wanted to do from the start. On the other hand, a girl who has had one long-term boyfriend and nothing more, knows exactly what she's 'missing' and yet still doesn't go chasing after it because she knows it would be a stupid idea in the long run.
