Doe anyone here sleep on the floor? Trying it out for the third night in a row and I am still not 100% with it and wondering if there are any pointers. Picture is my (maybe)comfy sleeping station.

sometimes i sleep on the floor to switch things up a bit it's almost as fun as sleeping in bed backwards

Since I'm not an 18th century farmer, no I do not.

no my floor is hard as fuck

>>10003957 Most floors are. It's kind of pointless to have a really soft floor. Do you want to live in a bouncy castle?

I have hardwood floors. It would never work. Also, nice ThinkPad.

>>10003829 I tried it 3 nights ago at a party. Mildly drunk. Personally, I hated it. I slept a fitful 50 minutes, then spent the rest of the night with the other people who stayed up all night.

It is slowly growing on me and for the people who complain the floor is too hard just lay some blankets down. Apparently it is really good for summer but shithouse for winter. You should all give it a try tonight.

>>10003829 What exactly is the idea behind this? What supposed benefits does it have? Other than making you appreciate a good bed i guess.

>>10004092 Apparently it is better for your posture. If you want to go European Extreme you do it without a pillow as well. It all comes from the paleo diet stuff with the reasoning behind it being that cavemen did not have cushy beds and did not have back problems.

>>10004107 Total crap of course. False premise derived from the name "cave man", which causes the assumption that primitive humans (the type without any creations) slept in caves. Those humans slept in trees, hanging on branches or in woven nests. >did not have back problems Yes they did - they had all sorts of problems. >paleo diet stuff Not related, but a side note. Apparently, humans can derive enough nutrition from meat, milk and potato. Also fruit helps.

>>10004107 But it's fairly probable that prehistoric humans (ie, nomadic tribes, not cavemen) slept on beds made from furs, they certainly lived in small huts with a fire so why not make a bed. It's stupid reasoning to think that cavemen all slept on bare rock and therefore had awesome posture. Also notice how they all have bad hunching posture in recreations (which are supposed to be derived from the actual skeletons). Sound like a stupid idea to me.

I suggest sleeping on a comforter on top of the floor and a pillow, or getting a firm bed. Firm beds are god tier.

Been sleeping on the floor since I was 12(19 now). No back problems or anything, Carpet with a sheet on it. I don't use blankets since their too warm for me so i use another thin sheet as a cover. Also table next to me and laptop underneath it with a chill pad. maximum comfy here.

I don't even have a bed. Mattresses are expensive and would be a pain to transport when I move in a few months anyway. Even when I had one I'd switch between floor and bed every few days because sleeping on one or the other for too long makes my back feel funky.

>>10004211 i saw on leddit that you can live off of just potatoes and butter. wouldn't be a great experience but hey

>>10003829 That's not the floor. That's a pillow. I sleep on a pile of dirty clothes on the floor.
