Hasbro finally realized that a lot of the fan favourite characters among the target and periphery demographic could probably appeal to the younger male demographic as well. Applejack and Rarity don't have cool powers, wacky attitudes, or hobbies/jobs/goals that would help drive the wacky atmosphere.
Compared to the character development that the rest of the cast got, Rarity and Applejack are just boring now. They are characters focused on interpersonal relationships, internal conflicts, emotional trouble, and learning to live in society.
Rarity and Applejack still have personalities, roles, and jobs that still make them feel the most realistic compared to the other 5 main characters who have become more and more flanderized to make them a whole lot more appealing because they are ridiculous. The rest of the Twilight, Spike, Fluttershy, Dash, and Pinkie have begun noticeable trends to becoming far more silly and ridiculous, which appeals to younger audiences who are looking for a ridiculous action-comedy with entertaining characters, something like PowerPuff Girls/Dexter's Lab.
Maybe it is because I never liked Rarity or Applejack that I'm completely okay with this. Maybe I don't think that Studio B/Hasbro can exaggerate them so they're more interesting and far more fictional. Maybe I'm happy because we have characters who are so damn likable that as long as they stay and kept familiar I don't care what happens with the show.
I don't see why this is a bad thing, maybe MLP is getting the ultimate audience because it will finally be able to appeal to the younger male demographic the way PPG did, but Applejack and Rarity need to be essentially excised since they're artifacts of an older age. I also believe the Elements of Harmony will play a far smaller role in order to force the ponies+dragon to fight a whole lot more

Well, think about it this way:
In show, We're Told and Shown that Cadence rules the Crystal empire after they got rid of Sombra
However, the crystal ponies ALREADY know her as "the Crystal Princess" in show (season 3 epsidoe 2)
The book, however, says that she'll tell how she came to rule over the crystal empire - and from the context of "oh no I'm a alicorn what do", it implies it might explain how Cadence became a alicorn also. Which means Cadence was possibly the inheritor of the Throne before Sombra took over.

So kind of an update from last night.
My computer's still broken and I can't draw on my tablet, and last night my rottweiler decided to step on my laptop because it fell of the couch. I still have a warranty thing on it, so I'm going to be sending it in and getting it fixed, so no dosh problems there.
But the problem is that unless I get my desktop fixed by at latest Sunday, the MLPG Draw event will be cancelled unless someone else picks it up, because I won't have access to a computer once I send this in.

Okay, look
For your PC to be working you only need a cable to connect your PSU to a socket. It should be a thick, black cable with a big plug so it shouldn't be hard to find at all and an HDMI cable for your monitor, which shouldn't be hard to find either.
If your PC doesn't connect to W-LAN you need an ethernet cable too though, but it's unlikely that it isn't compatible with W-LAN.

Basically I'll send them what prompt ideas I was sent, as well as some of my own, then they make 'Title images' for each prompt (I guess they don't really have to do that, though), and post the prompts somewhere they can be seen for 24 hours and linked to for anyone interested (a drawfag would be best for this, so they could just link a tumblr post). Post the prompts once every 24 hours starting Sunday, and compile the submissions into one picture, sectioned out by days.

Okay, let me rephrase that.
The last episode had very good content, but it was compressed unnaturally so so the pacing was terrible.
The songs were excellent other than the last and compared to some other episodes this season it was interesting, but something did feel very wrong with the finale compared to previous seasons.

I would argue differently, looking back S1 has a lot of off episodes, but nothing is really BAD, it has some good memories with it too.
The shift in quality of episodes has increasingly been hit/miss in S2 and I feel even moreso in S3, there are really good episodes, and then pretty abysmal/unwatchable episodes.

eh I feel different I guess, so many episodes in S3 just has terrible pacing, maybe it's because a lot of episodes in S3 feel awful in the opening scenes for me, for example the Discord episode was quite palpable/watchable after Discord actually started DOING things, but before it felt really rushed.
Almost like writers didn't have any ideas how to naturally introduce a scenario so they just got it over with as quickly as possible, I just feel that the buildup for most episodes in S3 is too fast to feel like a smooth progression.
