Season 4 onwards, the CMC are the new main characters of FiM, which will now center on their quest for cutie marks as the show is retooled for the younger audience. There will also be a new spinoff cartoon geared towards the bronies, called My Little Pony: Love and Tolerance. It will feature adult themes inspired by the brony fandom.
