I'm considering getting an ereader within the next few months, but I'm not sure what device would best suit my needs. At the moment I'm leaning toward a Nook Simple Touch, but I'm definitely not locked into that decision. I will be using it to read ebooks from the local library and some public domain works I've gotten online, but my primary reason for buying an ereader is to replace 95% of my analog bookshelf. Quite honestly, I would love the ability to add pirated digital versions of the books I already bought in physical form. Some of them were really expensive. I do intend to buy almost all my future books in digital form, though, so I want something that has a decent library at a decent price. I would like the device to support .txt, .pdf. and .epub files, and I would especially like the ability to add additional storage space, but neither of these is strictly necessary. Also, I DON'T want a tablet, or anything else that does sound, video, etc. A relatively unsophisticated ereader is fine.

So, if you have an ereader, what do you have? Do you like it? What would you recommend? (And yeah, there's definitlely something to be said for the technology of the book, but it sucks moving 70 lbs of books across the country.)

I have a Paperwhite and I love it, but if you need all those formats I'd suggest a Kobo Glo. Ebooks can be added easily through Calibre, no matter where they come from. Torrent sites have just about any older book you could want. Kobo also supports manga and graphic novels if you're into that. Hardware specs http://www.kobo.com/koboglo/techspe cs/
