>>9372622 Everyone can make fun of us, yeah yeah, I get it. I don't think it is entirely bad. Yes, there are issues with assimilation. There are with any diaspora going anywhere, really. I like this city though. I have had a lot of fun. I have blanda'd up with Koreans, I have been super drunk on the beach, I've stolen a lot of TTC maps (if you want proof, I can post) and I have just had a good time. This city has treated me well.

>>9371113 Who would have thought when you get the population of Alberta and B.C. in one city I might not be as pollution free as a small town? As far as being expensive is concerned, I couldn't agree more. We have to give up our tax money to the province and then beg for funding that we just don't get. So, we get both new and raised taxes for the city so that we can pay for road repair of Toronto and everyone else apparently (and ormssfo: captia).

Yes, it sucks, but the other cities in Canada are not much better. >Toronto has the highest proportion of gold diggers >Calgary has the second highest >Toronto has high housing and rent prices >Vancouver is even worse >all other major cities in Canada have this problem, too

>>9373288 Yeah, I am. I was born and raised in Canada. White, Catholic, bright blue eyes and dirty brown/blonde hair. >>9371113 I have to agree. As a city, it lacks any good form of culture. It's not very pretty to look at. It doesn't have much going on. There's not much tourist appeal. Not to be mean, but when it comes to Canadian cities, Montreal is superior.

Toronto sounds like a nice place Is it truly a sucessful example of multiculturalism or lots of shit going on

1 hours later 9373662 Grizzled Ancient
>>9373463 I can agree with you in a sense there. Montreal has a solid music scene, and fucking amazing bars. I love that place, and can't wait to go back there actually. It all depends what you want from Toronto. I am a small down farm boy, I'm only here for school, so I go out to house parties, raves here and there, and concerts a lot. It works for what I want. I can see why nationalists don't like it here. Still better than Detroit, L.A., etc. >>9373469 Calgary is awesome, but my Native relatives out there are fucking morons when it comes to alcohol. Anyone in the Praries can confirm this. >>9373528 Depends on who you ask. For me, as a small town guy coming here, I though I'd HATE the multikulti, but it isn't as bad as I thought it would be truthfully. Yeah, there ARE assimilation issues, and some groups (Indians on Gerard, parts of Scarborough/Scarlem, etc) can really get annoying with cultural norms that do not in any way work here. I find it depends, really. We've determined many times over Sihks are bro tier, but some of the Punjabi and Kashmirs are issues in terms of how they speak and act to other citizens. This is from someone outside living here for two years, and I find it works if you want it to. It also depends on the area you live in, and who you make friends with. Me? I hang mostly with Italians, Worst Koreans, the Irish and a few guys from Pakistan, and my other friends who moved here for school. I think I have a pretty good group of friends, and we're all from different places. Just depends. It can be the EXACT opposite. As I said, Indians can be an issue, but Somalis and eastern Africans are by far one of the biggest issues.

>>9373662 >I am a small down farm boy See, that's where we differ. I'm from NYC I dislike it because it puts on the airs of a big city, but it isn't. It's neither a big city, nor a majorly cultural one.

>>9373991 I think out shitposters here make it sound like some hub of extremely awesome, prestigious grandeur, but I don't see that at all here. We have nice places, lovely neighborhoods and great things for the people who live here, but I don't see it as a very large city, really. Big for Canada, but as compared to NYC? Naw. I can get from Lakeshore to York in 45. Can't get from one end of NYC to the other in 45, can you? I think people can have opinions of the city, and that is cool. But much like one person's views aren't shared with me, mine aren't shared with everyone. It goes person to person on their view of Toronto. Some like it, some are indifferent, some love it, and some hate it. I happen to love it a lot, because it works for me, and the effort I've put into having a good life has paid back for me. It is a city of much opportunity I find, and I am grateful for all I have here. I have no complaints.

Torontonians (that's what I'm calling 'em) frequently say it's the best/a great city, and then don't continue with any reasons why they think this.
