Anyone from the UK/Britain, live near that country and/or know about how it is living in that country?

Shit unless you make over £30,000.

Yes, what do you want?

Eh, I find it distasteful that we still have a monarchy but beyond that I really don't care about her or any of them.

It's alright. It could be worse, but it could be better. Only thing that really pisses me off is the weather, but then again that pisses everyone here off. On the topic of the Royal Family, I don't really care. After the Queen dies I'll stop really paying attention to it. Kate Middleton's nice to look at though.

>>7820085 Hugely popular legislation. I'd suggest our insistence on everyone having a house with a garden instead of apartments is more to blame.

Not as bad as people say, its a developed coutnry. Earning any amount is good here but if you are going to move here I would have assumed you have some qualifications and such. Otherwise people here hate low ranking immigrants that come here and get all the benefits. Weather is not a stereotype, the rain and grey sky can be very depressed if you are used to blue skies and a warmer climate.

>>7820971 The houses and gardens they build are minute though. Because demand is so high and the space is limited you end up, especially in my area just north of Portsmouth, with about 10 new houses on the site of two or three old ones.

>>7821098 >not measuring HDI by our wealth, GDP per capita and our ability to have good lives and feed our family No but I'm sure "Having one less year of full time education" and "Sunshine hours" are soooo important. Small, cramped, cold, grey and wet. Spied on everywhere you go. Judged if you are in any way out of the ordinary. It's like a dystopian future. You can walk out of your 2 foot square (literally, and even then only if you're lucky) garden and be prosecuted for trespassing instantly. Such a small country means we are all very ironed out in terms of personality. Everyone here is similar and if anyone is quirky or different they are an outcast. In larger countries like America there is more room for the weird and strange people, and American society tolerates their existence better than British society. The UK just has no space.
