I don't live right next to the beach no, Cocoa Beach is about 20 miles from where I'm currently located.

Do you have any skills or degrees? I promise, they're being wasted up there. If not, no worries, I'm in the same boat. If you are willing to work, the retail sector, especially in the north end, is a joke -- if you can show up to work without being stoned, you'll get sick of how many hours you'll be getting.
It's definitely a different pace of life, but even if you're a NEET with no car, we have a bus service that actually doesn't suck like the rest of the state and actually runs fairly regularly.
Just avoid a few areas and learn to deal with the hassle of our local begging population and you'll be fine (protip: Most, if not all, are lying to you constantly to rustle up beer money)

It's pretty extensive. You're good as long as you aren't on one of the barrier islands or too far out in the country (Summerville), but even then they've started doing Express bus service, which is nice -- $3 one-way, but it's straight freeway and you're not stuck sitting next to someone who hasn't showered in a month.

Oh, no, there are other cities that have much nicer historic districts than Charleston. Savannah and Wilmington, imo, are much more spacious and relaxed.
Still, Charleston is nice because it's still alive. Sure, it has the tourist aspect but people are still clamoring to live there, as well. It's a strange little world within itself.

Flags are based on resolving which country of origin a particular IP address is coming from. This worlds on a national level because the topography of the Internet is roughly cut up nation by nation, but there's no real way to conclude which state an IP came and that it matches the location of the poster.
Okay, so I'm lying, it can be determined to a degree (those "FIND LOCAL SINGLES NEAR X" scripts, for instance) or using data from other sites, like Facebook, but it's far from perfect and sorta defeats the point of /int/ (this isn't /sts/ or anything)

Texas actually gives more money to Washington than it receives, so from a financial standpoint it could last.
Of course, there's nothing in either the Texas constitution or the U.S. constitution that says we can secede (Texas is able to split itself into five smaller states at any time for some reason though), so it would either have to make it's case to Washington, or have civil war Mk. II
But it's not like most of my state wants to secede in any case, it's a vocal minority I suppose.
