What steps does an American high school student like me have to take in order to go to Finland and go to college for "free?" What are the cons of doing this? It seems too good to be true. Or What are some other affordable places to go that isn't America?

>>7738703 If you represent the current generation of American high school students, then I truly do weep for the future of the USA. Here's a tip on going to college in the US for free: get the fuck off 4chan and do your fucking homework. Believe it or not, if you do well in school and get into a top-10 school, you will likely pay zilch. Faggot.

Teachers should get paid half of doctors. Lunch should be 45 minutes. Standardized tests for literacy and mathematics should happen multiple times a year. I grew up with these, and so did everyone else in Canada, and we have one of the best education systems in the world. The reason America doesn't is because of the vast amount of minorities. The white and asian averages in the US are higher than most Europeans. America can never fix their education system, because it's impossible to teach the unteachable.

>>7738703 America may have a sub-par secondary education system compared to much of Europe (especially Finland), but our unis are the best in the world. You'd be stupid to pick a Finnish uni over an American one unless your only two options were the best uni in Finland and one of the shittiest in the US.

>>7738950 >debts pic related >muh population Doesn't matter. Most of our best universities are concentrated in a small area. Massachusetts alone has 2 of the top 5 universities in the world. Do you think that has anything to do with how many people live in Texas and California? Why isn't Brazil's university system world-class, then?

24 min later 7739031 Anonymous
The crime and education statistics which make the United States appear to be less than worthy of the "first world" moniker are due to the fact that one third of our population is made up of third-worlders. This will never be corrected

>>7738950 >debt The only people who amass tons of debt are people who were too dumb to get into a good college and had to (a) settle for an expensive private college that would accept anybody or (b) try for an out-of-state public university that would accept anybody or (c) opt for a for-profit university in which case they deserve everything that comes to them.

>>7738880 I agree, for secondary education at least (our unis are god tier). Every new policy that comes out is always aimed at how to get minorities to perform better, but they never seem to work.
