If the US had gone to war with the British Empire in the 1930s, who would have won? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_Plan_Red

>>7657813 Good question, we never planned to attack America.

Canada would have been conquered, Britain would have conquered Hawaii and the Phillipines. Everything would have gone back to the way it was after the war. It would have been a stalemate. They were pretty much equal superpowers.

>>7657813 Likely no one. It's our good fortune that Canada didn't try to burn down D.C. a second time.

>>7666026 Pretty much this. If you think the US could have blockaded Britain, or that Britain could have invaded the USA through lolCanada you're insane. I don't know why these people saw Canada as a springboard though - defending the border would've made it too easy for Britain to launch an invasion by sea into Texas, California, Georgia etc.

If Britain could convince Mexico to jump in against the USA (very possible), decisive British victory. Otherwise, probably a very drawn out war that favors neither side.

>but nonetheless saw it as impossible to defend against the much larger United States, so did not plan to do so, as Canada's loss would not be fatal to Britain. You see that perfidy Canada? You fought for them in WW2 silly plebs.

>>7665912 Well we didn't plan on attacking you either, it's a "just in case" thing. I'm sure your people must have made some plans for such an occasion. I thought they used to be good at that sort of thing.

I think if we got a few good Indian uprisings going it would be smooth sailing. Otherwise I can't see the Brits having a good chance once our war machine went into full swing.

>>7666170 You're probably part english and you don't even know it More importantly YOU ARE BRITISH if the British had fought the Irish Free State like America fought the Confederacy you'd still be British, but West British and you'd be better off for it because instead of "oh well we made them leave a thousand years later" it'd be "fuck you american cunt you only won because we didn't give a fuck about the colonies". It just makes me sad to see the British isles balkanize despite your brotherhood.

>>7666373 Revolution actually gave us a better army, real weapons and logistic exp, Carranza was already reinforcing the border b4 the letter, the plan was nuts only cuz germans couldn't possibly help us in any way with the UK controlling the seas

If anything, it probably would've made Germany and Britain bros, then God help the rest of the continent and the world. Then Hitler's dream of Britain and America marching on to destory the decadent United States would be realised ;_;

>>7657813 >British Empire Nothing the British had outside of the UK was capable of any mass industry like the US was. The British military might have been bigger (big maybe) in 1930, but only because the US had no reason to have a big military If things had gone to total war, we need only look at what happened to Japan, another highly industrialized, yet ultimately small island nation, when it fought the US >protip the Japanese Imperial navy was far more powerful than the British navy and we annihilated it tl;dr in a total war scenario Britain gets ground into ash, no contest

>>7666526 > Royal Navy had cleansed the US Navy Harder than it would have been even 20 years earlier. The principal purpose of the Washington Conference was to prevent a naval arms race that Britain could not afford under any circumtances, but the Amerifats could if they really wanted to. RN was bigger only by a so so amount and had three Oceans to cover, the Amerifats only had two. Naval war would have been interesting. Japan is a significant wildcard.

If you've done the bare minimum of research, Britain chalked it up as a loss. That's the part of the Great Rapprochement that is always forgotten. Move the timeline back 30 years and maybe you have a battle on your hands
