Hello /lang/ , I've been thinking lately about learning japanese and work as a translator (secondary language). I want to know, how difficult is it? Will it take much time untill I'll be able to speak it? (3-4-10yrs) How do you like it? Also, I'd like to know if it is worth starting with some online guides rather than a coach? (I live at like 30 miles from the town, and going there + studying and shit would be a pain in the ass) Anyone here is a native japanese? pic unrelated

Most japs are asleep now. Expect it to take a couple of years for fluency, up to 5 years to be able to work as a full scale translator of media (an interpretor wouldn't need as much knowledge I think). Also unless there are only a few romanian who speak japanese it's not that good of a career option. Alot of people (including me) is flooding the market.

>>6013118 There aren't so many JP-RO translators around here, it's considered one of the most exotic languages , along with Swedish , Chinese, Arabic and others. A good translator can earn over 4k euro if he has many projects to fill
