>>138958008 We don't export many packaged food goods, but export most of the prime material needed to execute that. Australian Cattle eat our soybeans, plastic packages you'll buy from European goods are made of our petrol, and so on. One place you might have not realised the presence of Brazilian industry is in the airport. Literally half of all mid-sized plane fleets of economy airlines are composed of Embraer jets, to the point it's one of our largest exports. They're remarkably economical and reliable, from what I heard. Another thing we export a lot is Ethanol, cleaning table and fuel ethanol both, and sugar, as we have the most robust Sugarcane industry in the world. We also have a huge heavy industry. 8th biggest steel millers in the world, one of the largest producers of aluminum, magnesium, copper and nickel, too. So, you know, if you're buying a car made in Japan there's a good chance the Steel was made here. Anyway, our main market isn't exactly East Asia either. Other than China buying soybeans and all kinds of meat from us, we don't have much of a presence there. On the other hand, most industrialized goods, like appliances, cars, construction gear, agricultural gear and clothwear you'd buy in South America are made here, particularly if you're in Mercosul territory. Our consumer goods market is very interior-minded, a relic of the way we industrialized in the 60's and 70's. Basically, Brazilian industry outside of South America consists of products that participate in the earliest parts of the manufacturing cycle, planes and ethanol. Inward, though, we only have to import very niche things like microprocessors and, to be honest can't think of another example. That's how inward-minded our industry is. >inb4 redditspacing just manifesting the ideas in an easier way to read >>138958117 this. most cheap snacks you'll buy anywhere in the world popped up somewhere in South Mato Grosso or Central Paraná.
