the comfiest place is the right mindset, the right activities to do every day that make you feel happy. physical location isn't necessarily the most important factor. all my opinion.
having said that congrats on your achievements, it's very impressive honestly.

After taxes, sure. But we are clearly talking about before taxes. After taxes I make about 41k NOK per month, which is barely median salary.

Cost of living is higher in the US, I don't need to manage my own pension and health insurance.

They do look like extremely depressing places to live, five houses built exactly the same all facing each other in a tight semi-circle. I don't see how that's more private than just planting some greenery in your front yard.

Yeah but why does it vary si much ? We basically have the same trade regulation, most things should be around the same price.
It's even more absurd when you consider Switzerland: a coffee will cost FIVE TIME MORE after a 10 minute walk between two literall villages
I'm so pissed just remembering that. Someone must be behind all this
2 hours later 136779565 Anonymous
>>136779433
>Yeah but why does it vary si much ?
The oil industry has inflated salaries and wages here, which again inflates wages for everyone involved in the supply chain which increases the price on goods. Increased prices also lead to increased wages, so it easily spirals.

Salaries are high because of limited supply and high demand, companies are incentivized to set prices accordingly. Nothing strange about it really.
