I honestly just use youtube or foobar mobile whem I'm out. I'm thinking about setting up airsonic on my seedbox but I don't really want to keep my sorted library there in addition to my seeding directory.
With a library over 1TB there are 0 options that don't require choosing what data to exclude. If I can't have it all I'm just gonna use youtube I guess. Spotify is evil and I abhor it.

What can I do to stop my in ear headphones from going bad ?It's always the one ear that stops working probably because the inner wire gets cut/damaged from all the bending. Usually near the part where it connects with my player.

I have an iPod Nano (the square touchscreen one, 6g I think?) that I leave constantly plugged into my car's USB in the center console, but honestly I don't use it much anymore. It's just too much hassle to deal with Apple devices, so I stream music through bluetooth from my Android phone instead, and these days it's mostly Spotify anyway.

runs on aaa cells, regular alkalines get you about a month (20 days, with 2-3hrs of play per day, so 40~60hrs per cell, moderate volume, backlight disabled), rechargables run you maybe 15 days, depending on capacity
i had the chance to switch to an ipod nano, but i prefer having batteries, switching on the go is way comfier then having to plug your player in every couple days (not to mention managing music on the device is way easier with just files and folders), and the limited storage does force you to cycle through songs every once in a while

Mine works great but if you google agptek rocker/benjie t6 you'll find that plenty of people have random issues from pops to random noise, seems like the QC of these things is pretty shit but if you get a unit in good shape then it's just a clip+ with bigger screen, worse battery life and lacks the clip.

I use a mz-nhf800. First gen hi-md. It's good bur the job wheel is fucked. Hi-md can be very expensive and disks are normally around £15/£25 compared to £2/£3 for regular md. It does allow up to 45 hours per disks and regular md disks cam be used as hi-md disks giving longer runtime verses lp4 which sounds like hot trash anyway.

Which format? I have about 800gb (mostly FLAC) and could fit all of that on a 64gb SD card if transcoded to libreopus.

I still have the mz-n707 which I bought in 2014. I pick it up from time to time, hoping that it'd record an MD without bigger troubles; right now, it's errors galore, no matter what os, version of sonic stage, what cable. Hell, that one time turning the player upside down helped it record three tracks instead of jamming on the first track.
The recording bullshit aside, it was extremely comfy to use, especially the remote. It's a pity that there weren't that many players which included a remote with a display and whole array of buttons. Then again, there was little need for that as the players shrunk in size.
Anyone had any experience with nw-a3000? I was considering getting one, as this player supports the md compatible remotes and has ~20gb storage. On the other hand, it'd be back to sonic stage.

I've been using Ampache for the past year and I really like it. Does everything I need for music, is stable and hooks into subsonic API's so you can use the many apps written for Subsonic. Just gotta make sure your library is properly tagged
