Bitcoin crashed down to $33.3 in a few seconds and Mt. Gox exploded, Is BTC now dead?

0 min later 32081200 Anonymous
Time to buy bitcoins.

2 min later 32081230 Anonymous
Weighted average still 42 dollars. Not yet.

9 min later 32081340 Anonymous
when the europeans wake up they will panic sell. bitcoin will be $20 by tomorrow night. mtgox will probably shut down their platform in an attempt to stabalize the markets but confidence is gone. back to 5$ within a month.

43 min later 32081807 Anonymous
>>32081673 BTC will never be stable if you use a ponzi currency like the USD to measure it.

48 min later 32081886 Anonymous
>>32081807 Well frankly it doesn't matter if i use the USD or the Euro or DKK, because they're all practically tied together atm (the dollar is so stable compared, that beyond the high drops a few years back it's always the same difference between them).

Why has it been so inconsistent lately? I thought that BTC was designed to avoid this?

Great. When it bottoms out I'll invest to capitalize on the next bubble, and also look into making a bot to buy and sell bitcoins as the price fluctuates to make money.

I really want to get into buttcoin, but it's so shady. Information that was good a few months ago is worthless now and no service is trustworthy at all and might run with your money at any time. Not to mention that you can't buy them with cash, so I have to tie my credit card to it which defeats the point of an anonymous currency.

2 hours later 32083189 Anonymous
>>32083070 This. I have a few hundred $$s that I could easily use as play money, and given bitcoins up and downs, that seems to be the thing to invest in to easily get some insane profits with medium risk, if it werent for the fact that there is no single trustworthy entity where i can buy and sell bitcoins, without adding the "my coins/my coin provider might vanish/get robbed/run away with my coins" risk, which makes the whole thing really high risk…
