>>32003163 650 watts is cutting two 7950s a cpu and all the peripherals (fans, dvd drive, water pump if your put everythingon liquid) etc. a 650 is only good for 2 lower end cards maybe. Rule of thumb is if running two gpus, minimum a 750 watt. 850 if you want OC room for both cards and the cpu.

>>32003207 ok then, thanks

8 min later 32003278 Anonymous
>>32003207 because you totally need 100 watts as "OC room"

>>32003229 indeed. Regardless of what /g/ says, OCZ isn't a HORRENDOUS brand. They're no diablotek. a fully modular 850 watt OCZ is like $115ish. getting one 850 from corsair or seasonic will run for more, especially modular. Im currently running a 100% modular 650 watt from OCZ and it is awesome.

>>32003207 I had 2x gtx580 and i5 2500k all oced with corsair tx 850w Arent 7000 and 600 series supposed to eat a lot less power than fermi?

11 min later 32003339 Anonymous
>>32003284 the 7k series is... iffy. for isntance, the 7770 and 7850 are AMAZING at power consumption. you can xfire two 7850s on a 500 watt psu. anything past the 7850, and power consumption is meh. only marginally better than the 6k series. As for kepler vs fermi? lol yes muuuchh better. My 670 uses almost half the power of a 570, and performs on par with a 580. shit be crazy yo.

13 min later 32003378 Anonymous
>>32003339 I doubt you need 850w to crossfire 7950. If peak wattage consumption of 580 sli is 650w then surely 7950 cf will do just fine with a quality 650w psu.

>>32003278 or if down the road OP drops the two 7950s and picks up two 7970s/gtx 680s/ gtx 690 w/e. 850 compared to 750 price wise is usually $15-$20 when within the same brand. Wtf, why not.

16 min later 32003423 Anonymous
>>32003378 I guess i didnt stress this enough. the 850 watt is not a bare minimum. Im saying in my opinion, getting a quality 850 would be the way to go. one less future upgrade, and again, the price is only slightly steeper. For fucks sake, people jumping down my throat like i recommended the guy get a 1500 watt.

OP here thanks guys, you really have been helpful, its just annoying because i just got this psu a few months ago when i upgraded from a 550ti to the HD7950 and having to get another damn psu was not on the top of my list.

http://extreme.outervision.com/psuc alculatorlite.jsp Use that. With an i5, 2 7950's, 1 hdd, 1 ssd, 5 fans, dvdrw, and 5 things pulling power through usb it came out to about 500w. Imo 650 would be fine. Most people go WAY overkill on what their system actually needs.
