Who here still uses gcc? Gcc has inferior performance, slower compilation, worse error messages, non-existent integration with development tools, monolithic design and developers that don't care about the user's needs. There is absolutely no reason to use gcc.

Hipsters will bring GCC back in a few years, you wait.

>>29002536 you offer all of these comparative adjectives, yet you compare GCC to nothing. So i'm going to assume you are comparing GCC to a shovel.

Official /g/ compiler hierarchy: icc > macroshit > clang > gcc > anything else

because I figure this is a shit thread, ill try to make it better. what is the best solution for compiling and writing programs in linux that are intended to be run in windows?

13 min later 29002821 Anonymous
gcc>icc>clang>anyone else>microshit

GCC still does a bunch of optimisations that LLVM doesn't. Certain code will compile to be faster in one or the other.

OP here. As an autism man, I find a lot of comfort in repetitive actions.
