So I am getting an SSD this week, and I have it narrowed down to the Samsung 830 256GB, or the Samsung 840 Pro 256GB. Pic related, it's the only benchmarks in which the 840 utterly destroys the 830, but it's $100 more. In your opinion, is it worth $100 more, considering the benchmark results? Full benchmarks here: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/532?vs=665

It's up to you. There aren't many review on it yet.

the area where you're going to feel tangible gains are pretty much addressed by any modern ssd. i think the price difference isn't warranted for casual usage scenarios.

>>29002580 Cool. I don't game or anything, I mostly do VM work on my laptop (For school, if I had a choice I would do it on a much more capable desktop), and that is the area where I am really feeling the limitations of my 5400RPM laptop drive (the rest of the laptop is more than capable, quad core, tons of RAM, etc)
