Hey /fit/
I've been running 7 miles a day for months and have lost 30 pounds (from 220lbs to 190lbs) and bought a cheap weight bench yesterday.
So I began lifting yesterday and I planned on lifting again today but i ached so bad it was impossible. Instead I did what I usually do which is run, but I only managed 3.5 miles. Which is okay because I do this often, running 3.5 some days and running the full 7 others.
Anyway I was wondering if I take up a lifting/running/lifting/running every other day schedule if running 3.5 on running days would be fine or should I push myself for 7? Because 3.5 every other day would be 1/4th of what I usual run and im not sure if lifting would balance that out?
Give me your wisdom /fit/ I am not very knowledgeable on these things.

/fit/ will tell you cardio kills gains
I will tell you, you just got yourself some delayed onset muscle soreness (havent lifted in a while/never) and your muscles are repairing itself from the sudden stress.
Continue doing both weight training/cardio until you start noticing a drop in performance consistently. It's gonna happen when your body starts getting over trained due to max exertion every lifting session.

yeah, this shit sucks. I couldnt lift my arms over my head all day and i cringed when i sat on the toilet because my butt hurt so bad.

Yeah, murrican soccer fan here. My dad loves missi despite being a baseball guy because missi is always shrugging off tackles and shit with his insane balance instead of throwing himself to the floor.

What is your goal anyway, weight loss, muscle gain, aesthetics, strength?
Gotta lift through the DOMS, they go away pretty quickly and you'd be surprised how quick your muscles loosen up during the workout.

I want to become skinny but solid. just a normal dude with a little bit of muscle. im sick of being fat but i dont aspire to be ripped either.

Height and diet? Body fat %? You don't want to end up with loose skin, take things a bit slowly if you aren't already.

You're going to be sore for a couple of weeks from your new routine but your muscles will adapt and it will hurt less over time. Push yourself to what you can do but don't kill yourself.
