My lower back has gotten tight recently, what can i do so it doesnt feel like a 2x4 in the morning?

strengthen your abs and lower back (the latter, very carefully). i also find hamstring stretches like bending over also help the lower back a lot. keep in mind, lower back soreness and tightness is a warning for potentially less-than-ideal form

Foam roll and stretch after you train and before you go to sleep Don't just target the lower back either. Do the glutes, quads, hamstrings, IT band, abdusctors, lower back and a bit higher on the back as well. Do it regularly and you should be feeling better in no time.
