Well /fit/. I've been lifting for almost a year now. Still can't DL more than a few reps of my own weight. Can barely do six pullups with disgraceful form. How hard should I kill myself and how.

>>19004861 Well you should indead kill yourself then. Or work out lats/back more often. I'm 136 lbs (~62 kg) and I can do around 10 pullups fresh and DL 185 so there's still hope for you! Just make sure your form is good, and for pullups do negatives.

Deadlifts might be your weakness. I am 70kg with no prior sports experience and I hit 60kg fast but couldnt get past 40kg squats ATG. No idea. Nowadays I just replace squats with a shit ton of leg isolations. Im trying a 95kg DL today.

Depends how long you've been training deadlifts for. That's pathetic if you've been training them for a year, but I doubt that's the case. Same with pull ups. Just give it more time. After 10 months i'm only benching 62.5kg for reps (66kg), but managing to pull 140kg on a 1RM DL.

Well you're obviously doing something wrong, I was able to DL 1.5x my bodyweight after 3 months. Try starting from scratch, read a lot of articles on basic weight training principles because it's obviously not just your DL that's lacking, thus leading me to believe you're doing something wrong at the core of it. Get your diet in check, get enough sleep etc., basic stuff. Oh and give it some more time, on the big scale a year isn't all that much. You'll make it brah, just not with the current approach.

2 hours later 19007950 Anonymous
>>19007656 Yeah my number one priority was to have my back straight. But then again I grew up on a norwegian farm and I've been lifting heavy farm equipment and been on GOMAD my entire life so I guess I had a strength advantage there.

I have been seriously training DL's from last August. Went to snap city in July with them, had a month of rest for the back and started over with embarrasingly light weights. It worked, and in about October or so I was lifting again a little more serious. I've been cutting since January, so not many gains have been made since December. Yesterday was the first time I maxed since December, I lifted 5x 145kg. My body weight is 86,5kg. What has worked for me is that I don't try to constantly hit the wall. Max out a few times, then drop the weights slightly and add some more each workout. Now when I'm going to eat a little more again, I was thinking of lifting reps of 5x every other DL day, and reps of 2-3x with heavier weights on the other days. I feel I need my nervous system to adapt for the feel of heavier weights.

Why would you kill yourself. You're making progress and you are a lot stronger than you were a year ago when you started. Sounds like an accomplishment to me. Don't compare your progress to /fit/'s e-stats. Remember that everyone trains differently and has different genetics. You should be happy with your progress
