Hey /fit/, got a couple of questions. I used to box a bunch, and I got fat as fuck when I had to stop when I broke my entire face and couldn't do it for a long time. I'm starting to get back into it, and I was wondering if this would be good cardio once a day in addition to 3 days of lifting: -5 minutes of light jogging -15 minutes of punching bag (interval training basically, one minute of going absolute ham on the bag, thirty seconds of just light jabbing and moving around to cool off, and back to a minute of going crazy) -1 to 2 minute rest -5 minute jog -10 minutes of intervals on jump rope -5 minutes on the bag again to round it out It's fun, it's engaging, and it gets me excited to work out. I just did it today and the time fucking flew by. Running for 40 minutes or biking that time just bores the hell out of me, but I couldn't enjoy it more. I was just wondering if it was necessarily effective. Also, any tips on improving my jump rope? I haven't done it in a long damn time and it is not like riding a bike. I wasn't even that good at it back when I boxed. I started out pretty simple, doing a big jump and two small jumps between each swing. Then once I stopped hitting myself with the rope every other jump I began picking up the pace so I jump as soon as I hit the ground. I started a little game with myself where when I jump, I hit my feet together and bounce them off before I hit the ground, more as to find myself a rhythm to stick to. I was wondering just how exactly I'm supposed to do that shit where I jump on one foot at a time, crossovers, or whatever? Or do they just come with practice and I shouldn't be expecting them in my first few weeks of skipping rope?

I'm talking half from my ass, half from my running experience. There are some routines that'll tell you to run for exactly that long then rest exactly 30 seconds and shit. But basicly all there is to it is to push it to the limit.

>>18004799 Yeah. I'm trying man, but my cardio is terrible. I'm sitting there at times gasping for breath after 30 seconds at times. Guess it just comes in due time. Can't skip rope for 10 minutes straight anymore than I can squat 315 my first workout I guess.

>>18004905 How fucking weak are you that you couldn't do 315 in your first week?
