>>17004216 i want to know this, maybe i should lat pulldown until i can get to my bodyweight

5 min later 17004239 Anonymous
jump up (or chair if you are lazy) and slowly lower yourself do you even scooby?

5 min later 17004242 Anonymous
>>17004135 I worked my way up from (checking my log) 5 negative pullups to 3x12. By then I could do 2 half-pullups, worked up to 3x8. Now I can do 3 full pullups.

>>17004242 are you fatty fat? im op, i think my dyeliknes+ overweight could be contributing

pull-ups don't work the posterior deltoid or trapezius according to that diagram, but the triceps are activated? doesn't seem right to me

>>17004239 I have to agree with this anon. Use a chair and stand on it so you can easily grab onto the bar, then step off the chair and fight yourself to hold yourself still until you lower towards the floor. Rinse repeat until you can do 15 reps of this easily. (These must be chin ups first). Then you can start doing pull ups in the same way. Once you master both of those with ease take on chin ups first, then pull ups.

>>17004260 No, just skinnyfat, and I haven't done any upper body workout ever. >tfw doing the first pullup since before you can remember.

>>17004172 Yeah, and you'll fully work your muscles.

Do negatives (jump up to the pullup position and slowly lower yourself down)

>>17004276 all these diagrams are bullshit pull ups work your traps a lot, rear delts too. chin ups don't, but they're better for lats.

>>17004281 after all of this you get godly lats, right?

10 min later 17004323 Anonymous
i started out able to do 5 or 6 and over a few months got to about 12 and now im stuck there. am i fucked?

10 min later 17004324 Anonymous

>>17004281 Currently I can bang out 20 wide grip or close grip pull ups thanks to my intense rock climbing training (Mostly bouldering) I did for a year.

>>17004323 12 is a sticking point for me too, with all bw exercises. Add weight and get the rep range down to 5-8. You should be able to do more unweighted reps after a week.

>>17004409 i love how the 8-12 rep range is so like the RPM of an engine in a car. It's like, hey my reps are too high it's time to gear up, and your eyes are closed on the horizon and as you put in the next gear and step on the gas the car goes zooming into adventure

>>17004311 Yes they will become very strong and you will develop mass. Just don't quit your pulls / chins when it starts to hurt pretty much self explanatory. Eventually you will want to use a dip belt of something similar like a weight vest if you want to get really strong in your lats. >>17004373 Awesome! Nothing quite like the power of cranking pure campus moves up the wall.

I did as many as 5x15 pull-ups, with decent form but after a while i realised that i only did 1/2 ROM, and after "starting over" i can now only do around 5x6-7 pullups with full ROM and proper form
