What part of ,"millions of dapps are going to use this protocol", do you not understand?
All of those dapps are going to need GRT to pay for query fees.
Demand is going to be insane.
Supply will not be able to keep up with demand.
What do you think that is going to do to price?
Ring a ding a ling ling, it doesn't take an economic genius to see that GRT price is going to go parabolic.

its a valid concern. GRT has one of the worst distribution schedules we've seen to date. There will likely be a dip before it happens from uncertainty and fear. Realistically though, the graph has some rock solid developers and investors. I find it highly unlikely that a lot of them would dump their tokens rather than stake, this early in the projects lifespan. The vast majority of them will stake and then we will be off the races.

Google crawls the web to find existing web pages and the context of whats on them, then it indexes them so that normal people like you and me can simply type in our search term and find relevant results.
The graph does the same thing but for blockchains and blockchain data. As I understand it the current methods of querying blockchain data is manual and laborious.

Please educate me. How is that VCs put in hundreds of thousand dollars in the project, and don't stake any of their tokens. Keep in mind that they've been holding them since early 2019. We're talking 2 years worth of staking which increases their bags and improves the projects network which in turn improves their investment further. And before you say that they are staking, keep in mind that during the release for public sale in december, only 900M tokens were staked. Out of 9B.

Listen up everyone I'm known as one of the "Right Brothers of Crypto" and I can tell you for sure this GRT coin can't fly. Back when I started making "crypto airplanes" people thought it was all nonsense. "You can't do that," they said. I told them that, well, yes I can do that. I also told them "You'll see."
And see they did. Now that we've established that I'm well ahead of the curve, and therefore ahead all of you - by a lot, I want to tell you something out of the goodness of my heart. Ok, here it is: SELL GRT TODAY AND NEVER BUY IT AGAIN.
In time you'll see I was right, which is another reason they call me one of the "Right Brothers of Crypto," because I'm always right. You'll see. Sell today.
1 hours later 27737833 Anonymous

I can think of a couple of reasons why they wouldn't delegate now.
1. They are waiting for subgraphs to migrate first so that they can pick indexers that are indexing subgraphs that they like.
2. They are planning to become indexers.
Also, if you're up like 600x already it's not a huge rush to get going on something that's only going to allow 15% APY at most right now.
1 hours later 27738107 Anonymous
>>27729841

Right, but by doing so they still miss out on 2 years worth of staking vs 28days for changing indexers (once more favorable conditions appear). That's still 10-30% bigger ROI for the time period. It's just too big of an oversight. I'm hoping that the information about eligibility to stake is bullshit, and they are actually not able to stake to current subgraph.
Personally I wont be staking until more subgraphs roll in and staked token count is 30-40%+.

Historically, GRT is a pump and dump. Hate to break it to you folks, but it is. These are the facts. People saying it isn't, you're on the wrong side of the data. The entire market is being run by trade bots. Large GRT tokens have been already allocated to holders, way before GRT even hit the exchange platforms, because of testnet operations (before mainnet).
I estimate each token to be valued at 0.30-0.35 maximum until larger companies want to use it, which currently they don't, because it is too expensive too. ETH is expensive, in general, to use anyway.
With that being said, GRT is a utility token which means the price has to remain low for companies to even want to use it. It is just the way it is right now.

>Data is exists in the blockchain in an unorganized fashion
>Dapp developers want to access this data
>Pre GRT they had to download the entire blockchain and then perform a linear search
>This problem becomes exponentially more complex if you want to join data.
>Say the difference between finding all men, all people age 40, or all people named John. Versus finding all people named John that are 40. The first example is hard enough, the latter would take ages
>GRT indexes the entire blockchain using what are called indexers (people with servers resources)
>They create queryable API that allow dapp developers to just focus on their dapp instead of creating a database
>Running servers isn't free
>Indexers get rewarded with GRT for hosting their servers as well as for processing queries
>Delegators signal to the network that an indexer can be trusted by staking GRT to that indexer
>Delegators get a share of that reward
GRT is needed as a currency to incentivized running indexing servers that process queries for dapps.

Dios mio anon, put a spoiler tag on that bitch.
Even if grt is just the yahoo of blockchain, I’ll still be happy with my investment.

I'm not a financial advisor but GRT has been rock solid lately with what I think are great fundamentals so I wouldn't be scared to put money into it. I'm actually thinking about leveraging if my sell order triggers any time soon.

What’s a realistic long term price on this? It’s grown a lot over two weeks, but after more flood into the market, do you think it’ll recover, and if so to what degree and over how long a period?

Oh my stack is "done". I've got 65k. 75 or even 100 would be nice but if we're over a dollar before next month I might not hit those. Not too worried though. Delegation will complete my stack for me.

This. I don’t like coinbase but usually if it’s on there then it’s a legit project at least. There are exceptions to this of course.

I just got into crypto a week ago (babby I know) and I'm up about $500, but GRT has made me lose more gains I could have had due to constant selling then FOMOing back in. I was thinking of just throwing the 1500+ GRT I have into delegation and forgetting about it. Would this realistically make me more money than trying to play the market or should I just calm my newbie nerves and set strict goals for buying/selling orders?

I bought 10,000 at 30 cents. Been very happy so far. I would like to buy more, but I'm poor and I'm pretty much priced out at this point.
I delegated and have made 285 so far. I am planning to hold for at least 2 years. I'm very curious about what the fee rewards are going to be like
