Welcome to the Monero General, dedicated to the discussion of the world's leading decentralized p2p privacy cryptocurrency!
previous thread: >>26378240
Monero is secure, low-fee, and borderless, meaning users can send XMR around the globe despite corrupt governments or broken financial systems. Innovative privacy features such as Ring Signatures, Stealth Addresses, and Ring CT (hidden tx amounts) ensure that Monero's blockchain is obfuscated -- the financial history of all Monero users is encrypted from the prying eyes of adversaries on a public blockchain, with transactions being visible only by a Monero user willingly providing a view key for a specific transaction.
Monero has also improved upon the scaling downsides of current popular cryptos. To avoid high fees, dynamic block size ensures that the size of the blocks will increase as the amount of txs increases. Further, the mining network algorithm RandomX establishes that anybody with a CPU can participate in mining, preventing the ASIC miner domination that creates a high barrier of entry. Lastly, the mining network will be preserved by Tail Emission -- instead of the block reward falling to zero like with Bitcoin, the block reward will gradually approach 0.6 XMR in May 2022, where it will forever stay. This constant linear inflation means the inflation rate will asymptotically go to zero while continuing to provide an incentive to miners to maintain the network.
If you still have questions, feel free to ask and a MoneroChad will be with you shortly.

Monero is the only cryptocurrency actively being used as a currency, so it's probably not going to go 20x anytime soon.

and that's a good thing
i can only see monero growing in the long term, when people start actively seeking financial privacy and realize this coin is what they're looking for.
but for now i'm content to hodl and buy into each dip.

makes sense
monero follows more closely to the original vision for btc.
makes sense satoshi would work on another coin that improves on bitcoin's faults.

I have multiple boomer friends interested in Monero. It's time something is done about the glitchy GUI wallet. Mining must be removed from the GUI wallet as it messes up the install due to anti virus. Second, monerod.exe is glitchy. Every other day I have to end the task and restart the wallet because the node freezes and won't connect. 3rd sending money drains my entire wallet due to the change system but no where is this really explained. It's time for Monero to grow up and this wallet is a terrible user experience. My boomer friends won't be able to invest. Not even my gen X friend wanted to deal with installing the wallet.

Thank you I will. My boomer friends have genuine interest. They are former Qtards so the idea of where the world is headed is finally hitting them and they want into a private coin. This coin has so much potential. It's like selling candy to kids. They are all very excited and want to learn more. I think recent political factors are having a huge influence right now.

i have a good feeling about monero this year
i think the growth will start sooner than we realize
but if not, it'll stay a comfy hodl, and that's fine with me.
>>26400417
the current political sphere is the best thing that could happen to monero. the administration has already expressed disdain for crypto, and that means coins will all but grow. especially monero, as people realize how much of a threat it is to the government's control.

I have a feeling that the foretold Ragnarok between Government and Crypto comes very soon. Like this year, or 2022. No government can tolerate competition in the monetary realm, the marketcap of crypto is getting too large to ignore. Especially with normies waking up to the fact that "BitCorn" is not a fad and is never going away. XMR is probably the canary that will be banned first, with other coins regulated into the ground not long afterwards. And then shit gets interesting.

things are so uncertain right now, and i'm watching with nervous optimism.
i don't think even the government can fully stop monero, they already tried to track it and it's near impossible to stop exchanges. one can only imagine the ride we're getting onto.
buckle in, friends, it's about to be wild.

XMR shitcoin status confirmed. Soon out of top 20 into 30 then slowly out of top 100. The market has decided monero is shit.
Already struggling to get above 140 while everything else is seeing fat gains. Prepare for another massive dump.
