Considering how a significant portion of the dollar usage and dollars, are outside of the US. It might be worth it to erode it.
Imagine two countries of equal size having the same currency, but only one of them have the ability to issuing new ones.
What would happen if the country with the printing press decided to double the amount of circulating money in it's country, doing so with helicopter money. One would assume that inflation would be 100%, you have made it possible to buy twice as many things without producing anything more. But because of the other country share the burden of a depreciating purchasing power of their currency, it might actually only be a 50% inflation.
I think they may be on to something, with this retarded helicopter money.

>you have made it possible to buy twice as many things without producing anything more.
No, you have only doubled the price of everything by halving the amount of things an amount money can buy. This is what inflation is.
The main benefit to inflating USD is that people are encouraged (forced) to spend it on productive activity and it reduces the value of our national debts to do it.
So instead of letting sit under the mattress you buy stock or consume or start a business or whatever with your money. And when we lend gazillions to other countries and pay interest only, the real value of the debt after 20 years of inflation is much smaller.

The only reason the dollar appears to be strengthening is because the 10Y yield is rising. If the yield gets any higher though the stock market will crash, which Jpow won't allow. Once they announce YCC the dollar is donezo. Get a mix of gold/bitcoin to maximize safety/gains for both extremes. If we get hyperinflation but shit doesn't hit the fan, BTC might become a new reserve currency, if shit really hits the fan you'll want a physical commodity as a store of value. Exit all fiat.

Back when yang was relevant I did a whole analysis of his UBI to answer all manner of questions about. Even had a model. It comes out to zero net effect. Basically it will not grow or shrink the economy and would also not cause long run inflation (all short run effects are totally on the table though). That was with $12k/year, which is below the poverty level. And in his plan the money is coming out of other transfer policies such that welfare becomes UBI.
As far as this goes. Assuming a $24k/year UBI starts with all else constant, no, it's probably not. No matter how it's spent. We don't have the budget for it. Now if you want to eliminate welfare and replace it with this then maybe. But that's still an inefficient way to do transfers and the amount is above the poverty level and >>26101020 .
