Was there consensus on LINK? Or was it like today, where everyone shills a different coin, from PNK to AVAX, PRQ, GRT, etc? I just want the best shitcoin without knowing anything about fundamentals.

>>26069902 It was the same before actually. A lot of trash coins were shilled here but LINK was shilled far more heavily. The only difference between now and then is that there were anons thoroughly researching LINK for breadcrumbs when it was only sub 50c and not even in the top 100. I remember it had a volume of only $200,000 at some point..my god how things had changed

What you're seeing now are similar projects (AVAX / ADA / DOT / RADIX / etc...) fighting for attention. There was deep organic conversation about breadcrumbs and critically discussing the chainlink functionality itself. The sort of discussions shillposters can’t fake. The real difference is those deep discussions don’t really happen anymore, probably because it’s enough of a sure thing now that it doesn’t need autists combing it for breadcrumbs anymore. >>26069902 similar to now, most LINK posts are shitposts about the price and shitcoin shills were flavor of the month. The only difference is now there's a 500% increase on newfags asking stupid questions, and a similar increase on the amount of scams being shilled. People still (and always will) fudded LINK but these days there's so many newfags pretending to be schizos or that they're "part of the club" that it's incredibly cringe. In fact, the cringe is what helped me to know that the top was in at $20. There wasn't a single actual decent post LINK related and it was so blatantly obvious 90% of the people I were talking to bought at $10-15, set a sell order at $19.5 to dump on the newniggers and went to bed comfy. This is the only spoonfeeding you're gonna get from me; the longer the coin is shilled the greater the chance it isn't a scam (it still probably is though). Pajeets will never keep the more blatant scams running for more than a month before the rug pull, and you can always tell because the shilling doesn't start until after the fucking coin pumped 3 days in a row, THEN they'll tell you. But you should be actually doing your research on the fundamentals or you will unironically never make it. Without understanding the fundamentals behind your investment there's a significant chance you'll sell the first time you see a scam wick, understanding what the coin does is what gives you the mental discipline to hold through the tough times. You could say it's the real difference between being another normie retard that has the attention span of a gnat vs white men (non gorilla niggers) that have foresight for the future. The final black pill is knowing literally anyone can be rich with a few hours of research/work, minimal risk, and some patience, but normal people CHOOSE to be poor.

what made link stand out was that it was the only project that tried to do oracles, something both unique and vital. everything else was just eth killers or supply chain meme coins or muh high tps. basically things that had already been done, but attempts to do "better". the token was also not a useless meme meant to enrich founders, but actually needed on the protocol level the implied connections to the big boys of tech and finance, and the antihype approach was green flags that signaled that it at least was legit they are still the only serious project doing oracles and are miles ahead of complete jokes like band and api3 (who literally copies and steal chainlink code) theres also the fact that it survived on 4chan for so long, which nothing does if theres no substance behind it.

>>26071258 No, you don’t see ANYTHING like link nowadays. The main reason why is because we are now in a bull market. Biz cannot sustain organic in depth discussion on a project in a bull market. The only anons who stick around in a bear market are smart money who are looking to invest in something for its potential. In a bull market, you have an influx of dumb money which only sees value in terms of price action. The voices of smart anons will be drowned out by newfags until the next btc crash. Link had a dedicated sustained cult following during a quiet bear market precisely because smart money saw its value before price caught up with it.

In the bear market these threads didn't happen. Also no one's mentioned the most obvious thing yet - link is also SERGEY, & you could tell as soon as you heard him talk that link is the future. This board has not only been obsessed with link, but with Sergey himself. We might make fun of his weight, but we were his biggest fans long before anyone else was paying attention to link. There would always be some anon at any of his talks who would live stream it for biz, and there'd always be like 80 people + watching. Just imagine in mid 2018 when everything has crashed & no one is paying any attention to cryoyo. Sergey gives a talk with like 20 people in the audience (if that if we're honest), but then there's some anon in the front row filming it on his phone & 80 mistfit neets all watching and hanging on sergeys every word. No other project had that kind of deluded and dedicated following, & Sergey must have been thankful for it in the early days. The enthusiasm you see from Twitter & the general link comminity now was birthed here. Another anecdote - one night some anon made a thread asking everyone which brand of shirt sergey wears. Cue wesponised autism. It was found to be a certain brand being sold on Amazon, and anons subsequently bought out the entire stock. Which other project has generated such levels of autism? In webm related, Sergey is apparently asking the guy doing the YouTube stream "are they (ie biz) making fun of me again in the chat?" to which the guy replies "no not at all, they're all saying it's '*fundamentally* bullish'"
