I will have to choose major in college this year I am good at Maths (not the best) and I don't know what to study I am thinking about Computer Science or Maths, I've tried a few times to learn programming, after learning basics I have no urge to learn it more, so I am not sure if Computer Science is for me Is Math a good degree? can I find lucrative job after this major? what else majors would you recommend?

>>22004672 Try statistics. As a major go for engineering if you prefer applied math.

Hi anon, I did maths for my undergrad and masters. I am currently working in a AI research and development company for a reputable company. I am also a Computer Science PhD candidate at a top university. Here is my advice, do maths. Programming is easy to learn so you'll picky it up when you need it or you can learn it along the way. I had no programming experience when I started my job which involves building architectures for inferencing. The core of computer science has an intimate relation with mathematics. It is far easier to explore areas of CS with a strong mathematical background than with a regular CS curriculum that makes you waste time on things like Web development courses or basic programming courses which you can master on your own without much trouble. On the other hand, it is vital to have guidance to become a good mathematician. If you don't wanna do research in maths it is easy to apply your skills to other areas, not just CS. You can't do this with other degrees. Other mathematician friends (that did not continue research) are working fields such as Finance, Biology and fields of engineering.
